Massive S/C Build ~~ PRELIM NUMBERS INSIDE!
#861
Here's some prelim numbers as of today. At 13 psi with 10.0 afr's and -4 timing it put down 261 on his mustang or around 280 whp on a dynojet. He was not done tuning as of this afternoon and quite a bit more power should be had after he gets done. We might be looking at the first s/c to make 300 whp on a dynojet, idk for sure yet but let's keep our fingers crossed. Now before anyone goes 13 psi! What are you doing!? You have to remember that 13 psi on a s/c and 13 psi on a turbo are two totally different animals. While that full boost would hit at around 3-4000 rpm on a turbo it doesn't hit on the s/c until redline. As most s/c owners can attest the majority of boost occurs at 4500 and beyond (when it really starts picking up). Therefore 13 psi will be plenty safe on daily driving as I personally shift my car at around 3000 rpm when I'm just tooling around. Also the tune Charles will be putting on will be plenty powerful but also PLENTY safe at the same time. I will be sure to get the final mustang numbers to you guys as soon as I have them and Charles is more than welcome to get on here and discuss the car. If the car can in fact make 300whp on a dynojet (I'll get a reading done in a month or so) next spring summer may hold in store some rippmods cams, a pnp, and pistons. I hope you guys are as excited as I am about this project. It's taken a long time but the results will be WELL worth it.

So, are we getting close to our race finally? 261 on a Mustang Dyno sounds good. If you can pump out 300whp on a S/C (dynojet), I will be excited, cause I love a close race.

A few questions for ya:
1. What belt did you need to use for that SC pulley?
2. It's pretty widely known that FMIC's don't benefit Vortech SC setups. Have you considered going to Chemical (meth) intercooling?
3. Why such a rich tune?
I *should* be at 300whp once I get my 12lb pulley (or darned close) on Ripp's dyno (Dyno Dynamics, which I think is more conservative than dynojet, but not as conservative as a mustang). I should know by Oct 7. My pulley should be here by then.

2.I'm not running a fmic, it's an inline water to air cooler
3.That was before the final tuning, he hadn't finished tuning it as of that last post.
I'll be very surprised if you get 300whp on their dyno dynamics. I have no doubt you'll get it on a dynojet though. Idk though, you might, I would just be surprised after my numbers if you get 300 on the dyno dynamics. If you hit 300 whp on theirs I will definetly be putting ripp cams in next year, I probably will anyway, lol. Are they coming out with a stage 2 or do they know yet? I'm really glad to see your project and I'm anxious to see the final results, good luck man.

Not sure about the stage 2 cams yet.
And you shouldn't be all that surprised when I hit it Keep in mind, my 250whp numbers was on a whopping 6lb of boost (crappy BPV) and with no meth (or any other form of intercooling). I think 300 is going to be easily attainable on the dyno dynamics with 12lb of boost, ripp seems to think so as well.
We'll see soon enough regardless. My pulley should be here next week and I'm hoping to get a tune on the 6th or 7th.

Sorry man, I got busy last night. The printer was broken up at Charles' and he's going to email them to me this week. It put down somewhere in the 260's so around 280-290 on a dynojet. Charles also thought it put down somewhere in the 250's for torque which is awesome for the s/c. I'll get graphs up as soon as I get them. The numbers were awesome for the s/c and the torque was a very very pleasant surprise. I talked to Charles about throwing a snow performance kit on there so we might do that when I get the clutch/flywheel done. Next year some ripp cams and a pnp and possibly some pistons look tempting

Ahhh screw the Dynos Ethan... How does it feel..does it get up and ride... Are you happy with it... Doesnt matter what a peice of paper says as long as you are happy with it and it rides out..
