Massive S/C Build ~~ PRELIM NUMBERS INSIDE!

Quick update for you guys: The intercooler is ordered and should be here in a week or less. The AEM boxes are on shortage and won't be available for shipping for about a week or two. Toyomoto is tuning the AEM with 780cc injectors so I'm checking with ZPI to make sure they can tune it with some smaller ones.

How much is the intercooler with piping and all? (aprox)

Piping should, I'm not certain but I think from measuring that ZPI should be able to fit the pipe in right where the stock is once they clock the s/c housing just a bit. If they get in there and that won't work then I'll let them just do what works. Whatever they do it will be substantial less piping then the FMIC, probably a 1/4 of the piping if not less. I got the intercooler for about $1050 shipped from tweakit performance in Australia and ZPI quoted me 3 hrs or less at $95 per hour plus $150 for them to get the pipe and weld it to the intercooler barrel. So if you say 3 hrs it ends up being around $1450-2000.

wow, i really hope it works out for you but thats a little on the high side. I was thinking about the air-water setup but you cant hate on how the front mount looks, hehe, plus it was no big deal just to have another pulley made to make up for the length of intercooler piping. Either way it should be nice when its done, i guess the race to 250whp is on huh? hehe

Not yet. I should be well over 250 once the intake, intercooler, and ems gets on there.
IMO the water to air is vastly superior to a FMIC. I'll get the same boost without a new pulley, I personally like the sleeper look, I'll get cooling even while sitting still, and the guy over at Rippmods which knows a LOT about the vortech units highly advises against FMIC - https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...512&highlight=

Oh I agree with the cost, it is expensive. I think the boost cooler is an excellent option and I'd like to see somebody try it. I personally just liked the idea of this intercooler and wanted to try it. The intercooler itself really wasn't too expensive, like $700 but shipping was like $250 from Australia. If you knew somebody that could get a pipe for it and weld it it would be about $430. I went with this one because Sciondad had great success with it and it seemed to be a much better option on the s/c. I'm excited to try it first on the s/c and be the guinea pig for my fellow scionlifers, lol.

Another update: I picked up something else I'm going to have put on - a NST 12lb pulley. I'm also waiting on Toyomoto to get back with me on getting injectors from them and then the AEM will be ordered
