the intercooler is eating up 4 psi through the piping...his boost gauges were never broken, it was the piping the whole time...i think hes got the 12 psi pulley on netting him 7.5psi.

yeah it doesnt sound right because 14 PSI pulley is the max pulley so if he eats 4 he would need a 16lb pulley. That cant be done. If its true he loses 4 psi, the most pressure he will be able to get is 10PSI. And that doesnt sound right.

We found that on the previous setup, the BOV was bleeding off boost and that was moreso the problem. With a BPV installed and plumbed back into the intake that ZPI made, we were getting some really bad reversion through the MAF due to the short length of the intake. Its maybe 10 inches long from the end of the filter to the edge of the supercharger. So with the MAF placed in the middle, I really only had about 3 inches behind the MAF to recirc. the BPV before I would be hitting the coupler. It just wasn't working out.
I decided to use the Ultimate and do a Speed Density tune on Ethans car. I got rid of the MAF all together. This allowed the BPV to be vented like Ethan wanted, and allowed me to tune the car without having all the problems the MAF gives everyone.
The 14psi pulley that we installed was giving a little issue too. We were only getting 7.5 psi because the belt was slipping on the crank pulley. We had the smallest 7 rib belt I could find on it without ordering something custom at the time. I put the 12psi pulley back on with the same belt and the boost came up to 10psi. I dont think its slipping anymore I just think the intercooler setup is eating some boost. It hit a peak of 10.5 so 1.5-2.0 pounds is being lost through the intercooler and piping.
The car made 242 whp at the 10psi level. I also had 2 degree's of timing pulled out. I have no doubt with 12 psi on a dynojet these numbers would be in the 285 area.
Ethan is going to be giving me some feedback on the Speed Density tune and we are going to perfect it. Anyone that has some experience with tuning knows that being able to do this opens up many opportunities for us that weren't previously availible. I know there will be some issues to arise, as there always are when new things are tried. I plan on addressing them, if need be when the car comes back for the clutch and flywheel. After that I will be open to doing the speed density on anyones car that wants it.
Everyone be sure to thank Ethan for not only being the Test Rat for the intercooler, but for the speed density tune as well.
Charles

Its a little indepth to explain but I got rid of the MAF sensor all together. Because of the lack of time to make a new intake tube on Ethans car, its still there, but not plugged in. I actually made most of the Dyno runs with the maf lying on the ground next to the car.

Sorry I haven't posted yet guys, I'm really busy tonight with some stuff. The car is awesome, I'm VERY VERY happy with it. Me and Charles are working with feedback from me on getting it completely perfected but it's ridiculously close as it is. I personally can't wait until we can get the new pulley on there along with the clutch and flywheel. I think this will open some people's eyes about the s/c, I hope so at least.
