Max safe s/c psi - 9.5lbs? 10.5lbs? 12lbs?
I am about to get tuned soon and wanted some input on what the max boost that is safe to run on a s/c tC. I am concerned w/ longevity and blowing a seal. What do you guys think of 10.5lbs tuned with an emanage ult? We all know that with the trd tune 9.5lbs is safe but now it’s a matter of what is safe for the engine and s/c for years to come. Take for granted that the tune is good when replying. Thanks.

well like you already know the nst 9.5lb pulley is safe to run on the trd tune. and 12lb isnt recommended unless you have a way of cooling (water meth inj). so i'd stay 9.5lb and tune..as a matter of fact..thats exactly what i'm gonna do in a couple weeks . with emanage ult too. let me know how ur's goes if u do it before me

my belt squeaks so thats what is making me think if i should change the pulley since im going to change the belt. I have methanol injection right now - my decision is if i should get tuned w/ the 9.5lb that i have now or get a custom 10.5 made

ooh nice! meth inj already. i would think you're good to go then esp. if you have a good tuner. there are a couple that hav done the 12lb without problems but i guess if you dont want to go that extreme, 10.5 should be ok. NST told me that 12lb pulley is really small lol.

You'll be ok with 10.5 or higher. The key is the proper tune and the cooling, if you can take care of those everything else will be fine.
And are you using the Gates belt that NST recommends? Some people use a Goodyear one because it's a little harder to find the Gates. The Goodyear will slip after a while.

Make sure you switch your BPV though. I think you're on the Forge 007 already, right?

I have the bosch bpv - I think thats rated for around 10lbs. Currently I am getting a full 9lbs (it might be 9.5 ...i cant tell from the gauge) so so far its holding. We will see with the 007 - if the one I have doesnt hold ill have to get that one.

just curious, if the trd supercharger is a rebadged vortech v5 f-trim supercharger, it says the max psi is 20 psi. has anybody tried anything close to that with a built motor and piggy back ecu, or maybe a stand alone?
