me beautiful stage 3 block

Ok heres the deal, I went to Japtrix and they started tuning my car made it up to 16lbs of boost and realized that my tires were spinning free of the rollers causing the dyno to read lower numbers than it acually was. I will be going back tomorrow morning with my slicks and turning the boost up to 18lbs. In case you are all wondering the car made 350whp and lbs feet while breaking traction. As if that wasn;t enough this was on a mustang dyno. My tuner estimates that if I had slicks at the time he was tuning, on 16lbs of boost the car would make about 370whp and lbs feet. When I go back tomorrow with my slicks I should be making close to 400 on 18lbs. When i get back from that i asure you all that i will post up pictures of the results.

I guess there's a little getto in all our cars.

I spent a few hours with Brett and his Girlfriend (I don't think I got her name) at the dyno this afternoon.
The emanage was locked so they had to start with their generic base map and tune from there. I'd say they did 10 to 15 pulls and got it pretty dialed in.
Very interesting results, once things got started. Brett is running 2 step colder plugs with the factory gap in place. This was causing some ignition issues at higher RPM's at higher boost. Japtrix removed the plugs and gapped them at .025--- problem solved. I was worried that he may need an ignition system upgrade and I'm glad this wasn't the case.
The car was putting down very nice A/F of 10.9 at the start of the torque curve and steady increase to 12.0 at redline. Boost was also fairly consistant. On his best run, there was an initial spike of 17.4 leveling out to just about 16 even all the way through the RPM range. This is typical with manual boost controllers.
Here's where the problem comes in, at 5k on the dyno, the car was hitting redline at 6500 on the tach. This was caused by the tires spinning at upper RPMs. Letting air out of the stock tires increased registered WHP but could not stick through the entire boost range.
I can see Brett's car hitting the 400 mark tomorrow at 18psi. He seems to have enough fuel and spark, so as long as the head and turbo flow and the plastic intake hold pressure, should be, could be... a winner!
I'll see if I can drag my fat ___ out of bed early tomorrow and watch the rest of the tuning.

That is AWESOME Brett!
I don't know what it is, but everytime I see/hear a dyno with one of use tC's that are putting out decent power, the damn tires loose a little grip on it. It happened to me, and that was just at 7lbs of boost. And then if you watch Pollup's dyno runs, he was on freakin 20inch rims and still was moving all over the drums. I don't know what it is.... Maybe the dyno people think we drive Hondas or something.... Fool! We need that shish TIGHT so we don't go moving all over the drums!
Hey Dyltone, do you have a video camera you can probably catch a different angle of the run? Would like to hear this beast in person.
PS....300whp has become the norm when going F/I with the tC. But now we are all slowly moving towards 400+whp being the norm. This thread is a good motivator.

I guess he will just have to baby her down the track............NOT!
Definitely should be an 11 sec car. Maybe you can lower the PSI and run 12's and keep running, and then when it gets close to track closing....turn that mug up and run an 11 sec pass...

sounds good. as far as the ignition, id run a copper plug. NGK 6097's are a great plug and i've seen them support over 800rwhp. try a .30 gap instead.
i just think .25 is too tight, yea it will hinder spark blowout, but your also killing driveability and performance. copper is one of the best conductors and in my opinion the best for F/I.
good luck with the dyno session. where is this place at? i think i'm like 30mins from you guys
