Today was day 4 and as stated before, its down to the bare block. Still got a little cleaning to do on the upper oil pan, and well everthing else if i want it to look like new again. im going to do my best to get this stuff all cleaned up before next week. If the dezod short block gets here in before next week then assembly will begin then, but if not then i guess ill just be waisting a week doing nothing when i could start putting it all together again . Oh yea. Looks like ima need a new intake manifold. Apparently mine blew up internally somehow and now it rattles like crazzy when i shake it.

Now for your entertainment, some more pics.

they are off. My new setup has the balance shaft gear removed so no need to keep the balance shafts.

Next week day 5 begins. Id like to get the engine assembled up but i can only do it if my new motor is ready intime for assembly. Otherwise all i can do next week is clean up the engine bay in my car a bit for now. Hope the new short block is ready for shipping soon

Well still no word on the motor yet. Looks like assembly is most likely going to take place next week. I did pick up some stuff that im needing though. For those that have kept up with my build you would know that my passenger axle boot was torn apart and ran dry so it need replacement. Well i picked up a used OEM axle from ebay for $50 shipped. Also my intake manifold needed replacement because it was broken internally. Found one on ebay as well for $40 shipped. Now just gotta get a new condenser since i peirced mine and ill have all the things that need replacement to get my car running good again. Unless i find something else or something else breaks that needs replacement.

hell no. well sorta. The block looked like it was in great condition. No scoring or scratches that can be seen from the cylinders. The pistons were a little burned looking and had a bit of loose carbon buildup but nothing major. Havent acctually checked clearances or anything yet to see if it really was good though but it looks to all be in specs. But the problem was all on the top end for me. 2 intake valves were not seating properly and leaking. Valve guides were worn out wich may have been the reason why the valves were not seated coorectly. The intake ports had a bit of build up of sludge oil on it. And of course you know the intake manifold was broken. thats all ive found so far.

Well their still a chance that it may be. I did have alot of blow by and thats usually from worn piston rings or cylinder walls. Like i said, clearances havent been checked yet so i dont know if its to specs. if their off then that could have also been a problem besides the head.

I bought the LSD preinstalled to a new transmission. I got it cause it was all new and the guy here on SL only wanted 1K as opposed to buying the LSD for like 1200 and then installing it myself. Although i would have been the installer anyways if it wasnt preinstalled. As you can see from my build pics, i do my own work.

Well, Todd (our machinist) has been swamped due to OEM repairs (he does for several Honda dealers in the area) and some pro race (alchy) cars he does. Your block is nearly ready Adrian. I spoke to him about this last week as a matter of fact.

sounds good. Hopefully it can be ready for assembly on my end next weekend but i guess will just have to wait and see. Id like to have it really soon but please dont rush yourselves. Id rather get it done right than have it done fast.
