Default meth injection questions...

ok well a friend of mine is selling a meth kit for a great price...my question is...

do u need to pull timing with meth?

right now im on stock timing at 5psi and anything over 5psi i start to knock so i wanna add meth so i can run about 6-7psi of boost

i am tuning on safc and its been great for what i need im pretty sure meth richens your airfuel ratio which i think is good cuz then less duty cycle and adding fuel with my safc

your going to blow ur motor soon. /end thread.



tuning on the SAFC and ur knocking over 5 psi.. wtf do u need meth for? get a FIC or greddy piggyback before anything. get the fic or ultimate and boost 9 psi.. wouldnt that be nice? instead of forcing ur car on meth to help get rid of detonation/knock and trying to raise the boost to 6/7 ... just makes more sense

Bro stop trying to add more stuff to your car and replace that safc. It's useless on a turbo Tc. Sell that safc and use that money and then money you were goin to use to buy meth for a fic atleast or a greddy ultimate.

If you haw anymore questions I think there is a big thread about methanol search for it.

IMHO a properly configured WMI setup would negate any need for timing retard at 7psi but read this and decide for yourself.

its true invest on an effective engine management first, first of all if you are knocking.. you might be running too much timing so you need to pull some more.. or add fuel if you are too lean.. now you are putting a meth injection, it might help with knocking but seriously you are doing a band aid on a bad tune.. to tune meth, you need a good tune first then as you add the meth injection you add timing until you reach your best torque without any knock

I may sound like a broken record but PULL TIMING BEFORE YOU BLOW YOUR ENGINE. Knocking a 5psi, not good. Meth is a temporary fix to an ongoing problem. Just get proper management, and tune your car to 8 psi, and have more fun with it, and everytime you boost you wont wonder, I hope i filled my meth tank last weekend. Just my .02 Some people love the meth injection though. good luck

I dont want to beat a dead dog but listen to these guys man - i already went through blowing an engine ....and i was running all the best stuff - get an emanage blue at the least. Look at posts - someone somewhere is selling one used (or go buy one new) - I would drop your boost down to 2lbs till you get the mgmt ...simple as that

gotta agree with the rest of these dudes. Your issue needs to be corrected with better engine management and a legit tune. I'm not saying never use water meth injection but dont use it in place of doing things the right way.

damn yall chill out i know what im doing with my safc.....i dont knock...its only when i crank boost up to 5.5+psi right now im on 5 with no signs of detonation...

yes i was/am looking for a fic

and yes i know what im doing tuning wise


my tune is spot on with a 11.5 afr on good days and on colder days 11.8,

i asked bout the meth cuz in the future i will run meth for HIGH boost..

and for the time being 5psi is perfectly fine for me i beat a local with a greddy turbo kit thats on 8psi my turbo is good sized and im running open downpipe..


but thanks to those of u that gave good info and not bash

and for the record when i get my aem ill base tune it and have ptuning finalize the tune

and finally get me on a dyno
