relatively close. size of course will be 3" not 2.25" and will be stainless steel. OEM look is refering to the muffler and tip. It will look OEM to keep it clean and stealthy but it will mount up to all the factory points which means you can have a custom 3" straight tip design muffler made and bolt onto the GSpec piping.

Hey guys, I know it's been a long time coming since the idea was first introduced but now with SEMA out of the way, there is more time to finish up old projects.

Stromung (maker of superb Subura and BMW exhaust) is ready to produce the first ever production 3" exhaust sold exclusively through G Spec.com

The prototype will be up shortly and dyno #'s will follow soon thereafter. But in order to get the ball rolling, Greg at G Spec is looking to see how many are truly interested...

So for a limited time the first 6-10 that call or email him will have the system for only $875 + free shipping!

List price will be $975

Remember, special pricing will be to the first 6-10 only and the first one is already spoken for.

I'm interested but won't be "truly interested" until the numbers are out. If I can get the same numbers by adding the 2.5" midpipe to my setup for $250 I sure ain't paying $900 for that setup. Numbers first then I'll know.

remember that this is a complete downpipe back, Stainless Steel, Mandrel Bend, 3" system.

Similar 2.5 systems are $600 without the s-pipe!

I definitely understand that everyone wants to see power gains. Greg is not asking for a $, he just wants to see the interest before the system is made. That way he knows how many to make and if will be worth it.

update:
The system looks to be very clean. The stainless steel muffler will be centered in the rear with the inlet on the drivers side and the outlet on the passenger side. Very similar to the Magnaflow design but centered better and much better looking.
The system will mount up using the existing mounting points and will be available as a cat back for those who care for it.

The most recent setup was a 3" downpipe exhaust Stromung created for the Nissan Spec V. Testing on a dyno showed a gain of 35 WHP by ONLY switching to this exhaust from stock. Boost was left alone, tuning wasn't touched. Just switching exhausts gained 35 WHP.
Here is a link to that Spec V system which will be similar to the tC system but with a different muffler and tip. All these pics are the prototype version of the exhaust. All units are mandrel bent polished SS

Ummm been under your car lately???? Ours has two cats and a resonator also, lets not forget the worlds largest muffler

BUT for that price I'll have to wait and see a dyno

Any new developments on this? I tried contacting greg via email (sales@gspec.com), but haven't heard back yet... maybe it's just the thanksgiving weekend. I would like to know when this is ready to go.

I got a reply from Greg. Apparently, I'm only the 2nd person to confirm the desire for this exhaust. The rest of the correspondance has been from a "wait and see" standpoint. To those of you who want this bad boy, I suggest you voice your "need" to Greg! If not enough interest is pointed his way, we may never see what kind of gains this can really do. We need to be the pioneers on this untraveled terrority of performance parts.

unfortunately there are not enough knowledgeable people on scionlife/forced induction to know that anyone looking to make real power needs a 3" exhaust (search EVO, STi, SRT-4 forums if you don't believe me).
I think everyone is settled on staying below 300 whp which is cool.
Sadly anyone looking for a custom 3" job with this quality (full stainless steel, downpipe back, mandrel bend) is going to spend more than $875 (in CA)

Even if you think you might be interested down the road, shoot Greg an email.

yes it is stainless and if you doubt the quality due a search on any STi, Evo, BMW, or Spec V forum for Strommung Exhaust and read the reviews.
Gents, Strommung makes an outstanding system. He is waiting to hear how many people are interested in this kit before he commits to making them. If you are interested let me know via this thread so I can revive this project.
Coincedentally since I no longer have the tC, we would need a test car for the prototype and to due dyno pulls with. So Cal only.
You won't be disappointed!
