Default Most effective Oil Return line routing

Hey guys, I'm gauging some ideas, and trying to find out what is the most effective/efficient way to route the oil return line. If you have any pics or can get pics of your oil return line, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, any of the shops care to chime in, that would be great as well.

Looking as how the downpipe crosses between the turbo and the oil pan, I was wondering how many people have their retun line snaking around the down pipe and going straight into the oil pan. The other method would be to have it routed behind the downpipe, in a straight line, and have it connected to a 90 degree fitting on the oil pan.

So, which route do most of you guys have?

I use the stock TRD one. It seems to work fine for what it needs to do

^^Sorry, should have specified, this applies for the most part to Turbo'ed tC's. Your S/C'er does not come equipped with a downpipe.

I have since converted to an -AN style return line setup. My old line was routed behind the DP and went into a 90 degree fitting on the oil pan. My -AN style setup is snaking around the outside of the DP and going straight in, I was pondering on changing it back to a 90 degree angle (using -AN fittings still), and want to see which setup most guys were using.

im sure most are using whatever setup is offered off the shelf from each turbo manufacturer.

Can you guys point me in the direction of a weld on fitting for the oil pan though.

you should keep it snaking around and free of any sharp bends to prevent clogging. good on you for using a steel braided line and -an fittings insted of the garden hose that zpi provided.

Well my dezod kit snakes around the front of the downpipe if your standing in front of the car and then goes straight into the oil pan. I would think that is most efficient and definitely more efficient than a 90 degree turn for the oil to go through.

I'll take a pic and post up what mine looks like in a bit. Some more feedback, possible pics if anyone can, to compare to what mine looks like.

This was kinda of an easy question to ask. It's as straight to the oil pan as possible would be the best. And BrownDogg's return line is the exact same as mine. So, yea. I like where mine is.

agreed, the oil coming down from the turbo doesn't really have any pressure behind it and is all foamy which is why it needs to be as straight and free of bends as possible as it depends also on gravity to take it back to the pan...

To reduce bends, you would have to get a shorter return line to make it more efficient I would guess. Cus, when it's longer, it makes a bend.

True true! Mine is pretty much as short as you would want to make it. Just another thing that make the Dezod kit awesome! haha
