12.8 would be ideal for most applications for the highest HP but with higher compression motors like ours, it's still a little too lean. Running it pig rich will actually lower power, and increase EGTs as well. A good tune of 11.5-12.5 for moderate boost levels will make the best power.

You can get a little more power out of it if you go to about 12.8-13.0, but it's not that safe at all for our cars.

For those that have been driving this whole time, most of us either stay in low boost or floor it. I know many people dont go 50-60% throttle for extended periods of time in 4th or 5th gear without worrying about blowing something up. This just gives you the piece of mind.

Modding the PCV will help lower the EGTs, but no one has really been able to test long term results on this for reliability so I'm avoiding that for now.
Thank you Joe!

Okay okay, so it seems like even low boosters should take advantage of the black box when they are boosting under partial throttle...

thanks, this will now definately be something i'll buy (and now it seems ill need a vacuum manifold as well, lol...)

Beach808boyz: as far as the install me and a couple friends started sat night and had it running on weds, probably could've been a little quicker but I had to wait on a couple things, install wasn't too bad, and I've never done a turbo before, if that makes a difference,

and on the tuning I'm gonna go to BSM, its a domestic shop but I know the guys there pretty well from when I had my Camaro so I want to work with people I know, and they have a dyno,

let me know how the dyno tune goes, im interested to see where i stand numbers wise. also, tcing_u (a member here) dynod his turbonetics kit there, so it shall be a good comparison between the two kits.

hmm...if i remember correctly, tcing_u with a turbonetics kit dyno'd much lower there. im guessing they tuned your emanage. do you know what AFR they tuned for and how much timing was altered?

Yeah I tweaked the fuel got it running an AFR of about 12, could afford to clean it up a little but at the leanest(sp?) it hit 12.5

at the top it pulls 2 degrees of timing,

oh, that's at about 10 psi too, still playing with the AVCR to stabilize the boost.

very nice for 10 psi, looks about right. i still gotta tune my car, running rich. unfortunately my damn support tool is still not here.

also, the 2 degrees of pulled timing is pulled from the base map right?

I assume so, only thing I adjusted was the fuel, so the timing must be from the basemap, I didn't touch it

Well it is very safe actually. The injectors are to small for any more boost. So b4 i turn the boost up a lil bit more i need injectors and a pump. The pup is goin to be here today. The i just need to save for injectors again lol.

a little FYI a pump isnt gonna solve ur problems a return fuel setup is what you need.

That is false juju. The subaru STI is a returnless fuel system. Also i have seen Hondas with returnless fuel systems put out some crazy numbers. So every one saying that you need a return line no you dont. Aslong as you use the right tunning computer you dont.
