soflo, i can agree with you....

when i got it re-welded, (by someone who has been welding for 25+ years)
he explained to me the difference between a "fuse" weld, and a "tig" weld.
The guy showed me references of multiple manifolds he has welded, and how its done correctly.he explained to me that fuse welds are strong, but not strong enough for most car related applications due to an insane amount of reasons in which i will not list.

He continued to show me examples of the bad,good,sloppy, clean etc. etc. and it was painfully obvious that the manifold I was sent was fuse welded, in SOME spots.
I guess the welder got lazy, and i got the crap end of the stick.

I wish I had a tig a good friend does down the street once you go tig you ditch the mig lol

Just to clarify, only tacks are done with fusion. NONE of the finish welding was done without filler rod. It would be impossible to get a good joint fusion without filler on such thick material. Schedule 40 SS can not be merely fusion welded without filler rod.

i dont care anymore because its fixed and thats all i wanted. luckily it was free, well not completely, since i work in a tattoo parlor i just tattooed the guy and he welded my manifold
