it hasnt been fixed by toyota, I am paying to fix it. I will take it to arbitration or court to recoup that cost.... one can only hope especially since the pistons came out freely..... and had oil on the rings. An engine that seized wouldn't have been that easy to remove the pistons

I just realized that since I will have to keep my car longer than I may have wanted to, that I might as well put some money into my car so that I may enjoy it more.

FWIW, Jetlounge found a nice one and Perrin(sp?) makes a fairly functional unit. I theorize that the lack of a catch can is another of TRD's seemingly fatal ommisions with the kit. Particularly if you drive the ____ out your car!!

And now, the long awaited photos of Mike's holy engine.
hmmm holes are bad m'kaayyyy
Here's what it looks like inside the cylinder that threw the rod - you'll notice the walls are all nice and smooth. Also, you'll probably notice we took the piston out (heh)
Here's the piston that caused all the trouble. You'll notice there's no damage where the piston contacts the wall of the engine block.... of course, the joint to the crankshaft is totally f@cked.
So, the problem is not lack of oil. The problem was the rod connecting the piston to the crank broke. Now, why that happened? Who knows.
