Default my turbo is smoking

i have dezod s1 installed on my automatic. It randomly started smoking around the turbo itsself. It smells like burning rubber. Thought maybe my turbo bag was burning so i took it off but the smoke and smell is still there. Its just a light smoke, not like a fire or anything. Just something burning. Any ideas?

i also have the dezod kit and mine also started smoking about two weeks ago around the turbo. i found out one of the bolts were not tight and was leaking oil just a lititle bit which was causing it to smoke.

its just a greyish color. and only from the turbo area. im gonna pick up some wrenches and see if every thing is tight. the turbo works good. i havent had a chance to upgrade it to much yet, but its still fun. expensive but fun!

Every six months or so, or when I'm changing something out in an area, I'll tighten down all the bolts and nuts in that region. Just as a piece of mind.

not really, but I kind of follow you. I was just asking cuz after I was done with the clutch install, I decided to spray the Throttle body with some TB cleaner to keep it in good shape. Next day I went for a test drive (15 miles) and I looked like I was driving a damn smoker lol I was so confused at what it could be, spilled tranny oil, turbo seals or TB cleaner. When I got home it was noticeably less from the exhaust, but when I popped the hood it was coming out from around the turbo blanket. It was white btw, oil right?

I decided to take the blanket and downpipe off to take a peek and the exhaust housing was clean. Turbo had some up and down shaft play, but no side to side. I realized later on that it could also be coming from the open dump tube. The wastegate shouldn't be open at idle right? Just double checking.
