Default Need help with clutch option please

I am looking at my options right now. I am either going to rebuild the auto trans or just convert to the manual. Im trying to get a price both ways to see what is the better way for me to go.

Anyways if I go manual of course im going to need a new clutch/flywheel combo.
I need some help with all the clutch options.

I will be running the zpi stage 1 kit at 13psi on the auto it put pown 260whp and around the same tourqe #'s

So what kind of numbers could I see with that same turbo setup with the manual trans?

Looking at all the clutch oprions and I just need some help with whats picking what would be best with me.

After searching I see that for the best stock pedal feel I would need a sprung clutch. So would I need a stage 3 clutch?
Also how different does a full face clutch and the puck clutch feel??

Any info whould help me alot!

Thanks guys

So should I be looking at something more than a stage 3? or is that enough for me?

You might want to reach out to soflotc, he just did a manual swap and probably give some insight on the costs/time involved.

In terms of the clutch, I have stage 3 clutch masters and I'm pretty happy with it. From what I understand it will hold somewhere aounr 320 wtq without excess wear, so if your not planning on bulding out or motor it will be adequate. I also understand that the stage 3 clutch masters have a more 'stock' pedal feel and smoother engagement when comparing with other clutch option. I was used to it within a day,

Weezyfbayba, is that rattling kinda of a chatter? If it is, from what I understand it is prety common on upgraded clutches. I had some chatter on mine (when my clutch pedal was adjusted pretty high). I ended up adjusting the engagment point down and only have a very slight chatter now.

Ok so stay away form the CC stage 4.

How much increase in power do you think I will see switching from the auto trans to the manual? I know there is quite a bit of power lost going though all the parts of the auto.

I would definitely suggest an ACT Modified Street Disc. It is capable of handling 390Ft/Lbs and increases clamp load by 32%. The clutch feels great when daily driving, and has a smooth engagement. I commute 80-100 miles per day and have no complaints. But when i get into boost, it grips like madness too....

Hows your auto doin? Tranny headed downhill? Suprisingly (knock on wood) mines held up relatively nicely lol with over a year of abuse on it now If you do the manual swap - sell me your mod valve body lol BTW i still can get thos etrannys for $200 - but they weigh more than i thought so itll be quite a bit to ship

I think it may be im just trying to get all my ducks in line in case it does happen. Either way I think I may do this in a coulple of months.

If you really want the valve body ill sell it to you always like to help some one else out if i can!

Ya i figures shipping the trans would be kinda expensive but thanks anyways for looking!

no because me, tcpete, marcelo all had it and we all say it sucks o wait and elevation, its to stiff and the engagement is harsh, w.e u do USE the stock throw out bearing, the one CC gave us with the stage 4 is weak as hell.
