i repeat, 10w30 DOES NOT provide better lubrication for start up over 5w. 10w=thicker, oil doesnt move as freely and distribute between the nooks and crannies of the cams/valvetrain. you want better start up, use 0w30.

in my opinion, oil seals fail due to assembly of the blower itself. a simple step of not priming the oil seal can cause the seal to eat itself away. the type of oil you use does not affect the seals. also, how often u change your oil/filter affects seal life. debris chipping away the seals, etc.
