ive heard of them , but havent had any first hand experience . there as quiet as cast pistons? I thought forged pistons had to have greater tolerance due to the fact they expand more .

I've put them in various cars, and they have never made noise. Now back on topic.

You could do much more boost than that with those pistons with some rods.

Oh we know, however after a certain point it becomes pointless in a FWD car.

I was reffering to running 12-15psi on JUST pistions. the rods become the weak link after that point, and once that's upgraded, boost here we come.

You might have covered this previously in the thread but im to lazy to go back and read it all soooo....

Do these pistons come with the stock ringland height and ring thickness? I know the stock ringpack is a 1.2, 1.2, 1.5, which isnt a very "serviceable" ring pack from my experience. I went with a 1.5, 1.5, 2.0 in my engine and I was just wondering if you all were thinking the same or not.

Sorry guys.............I missed that Q

Anyway, we use the state of the art 'big boy' used one all of the decently HP'd 4 bangers making 500-600hp. It is 1.0, 1.2, 2.8. It has quite a bit of technology behind it too. ;)

Please explain the reasoning behind this. I've heard of a similiar combination before but never understood the principles behind it on a FI setup.

Plain and simple, we acheived this through Trial and Error over the years. We tried several combos, and none have had the success of this on the 4CYLs making 500-600HP. This configuration has been proven time and time again.

Im not doubting its effectiveness as much as Im curious to why it is so effective. I didnt know if you knew any finite reasoning behind it or if it was just something that has worked well for you in the past.

Well I hear ya. I think it has to do with the design too. These are steel, flat, rounded, nitrite coat with sort of a napier (sp) hook to them......I do not claim to be a piston guru, but from experience they work and well at that. So the deal is good in my eyes.
