New Engine Management (long time coming....)
#266
As many of you know, we have working on a new engine management system that works inline with the factory ECU, allows for standalone fuel and ignition delivery, is OBD2 compatible for emissions standards amongst many other things. Some of the other features are:
*Uses Stock MAF or can use single or dual 900g/s (1800g/s total) digital mass air flow meters or all of the above! Can use MAP if you'd like too
*pulse width modulate the NOS
*engine guardian
*Boost control
*launch control
*standalone fuel and ignition delivery
*OBD2 compatible for emissions standards
*Able to changes REV and Speed limiter
*USB use (no serial ports!)
*Changes tunes on the fly with provided jump drive
*Can alter TPS DBW profile
*Aux WB O2 capable
*20x24 maps for fuel and ignition
*Programmable built in shift light using CEL (VERY COOL)
These are some of the many options this unit allows you to do, which hands down other than the AEM EMS, no other engine management is this complete and comprehensive. It is an "in-line" ECU with standalone capabilities.
You can use all of the stock ECU ignition, VVT-i and fuel delivery logic, which Toyota paid their engineers for 1000s of man hours doing to our advantage. What does that mean? AWESOME driveability of a standalone with ease of piggyback tuning. There is no need to setup MAF voltage clamps, or to worry about extensive trimming and adjustment when temps change etc. The ECU uses all of Toyotas Baro & Temp corrections and has tables that can be specifically tuned for your setup based on single or multiple sensor feedback.
The unit has excellent partial throttle control as well. I took our test mule 2008 Dezod Stage 2 turbo'd tC out for a little romp session, and for just a mere 5 PSI, she is quite the champ with some decent torque steer. Today we are heading to get the car to pass emissions on this system and then next week, we are off to the dyno for our 5 PSI baseline before we run some boost through her.
I think that about sums it up for the time being, and if there any Q's, Don and myself will entertain them.

Ok. Just giving a brief update here. Testing is still continuing.
We are going to attempt to get this unit working with some fairly large injectors. Due to the way it scales injectors, it's not as easy as persay an FIC or an Ultimate. It does require LOTS of additional programming. We are pushing back the release a little more test some more of the thresholds of this unit.

good to hear you guys arnt rushing this into production...we have been waiting for a long time to see it but its good to know its being put through its pases. Paul when this is available would you mind adding some info about it in the Engine Managment List thread. Thanks guys

Sure can my man.
I ultimately would like an awesome street based ECU that can be used to good power levels and STILL pass emissions. This would be ideal for most of this community considering few are running dedicated race cars and the standalones like Hydra, AEM and Haltech are not going to pass an OBD2 plug-in emissions test. So we will keep plugging away!

Paul, do you have plans to test any larger Injectors after you finish with the 850ccs? I have noticed that you have been running through progressively larger and larger injectors, and while this may be beneficial for those who want 500+ WHP, it has been delaying an otherwise working product that could be brought to market for those of us who are NA or Low Pressure Turbo...
This is just a thought, not an attack. I just think this product should be released sooner than later, with future revisions made to support larger Injectors if necessary. Think of all the FICs and eManages sold in the last few months that could have been a sale of this computer...
