New Opportunity for future boosted tCs?
NEW STRIPPED-DOWN SCION FOR SERIOUS TUNERS
We all know that tuners love to get their hands on a new ride and modify every aspect of it. Toyota now has a new trim level for its Scion tC that allows for maximum tuning potential. Toyota Motor Sales recently announced the pricing for its newest version of the Scion tC, the tC Spec Package, which is sure to increase tuner appeal. The Spec Package model is different from the original Scion tC in that it will really give owners a vehicle to customize the way they want.
The tC Spec Package features steel wheels with “unique wheel covers,” a fixed glass panorama roof, unique upholstery and urethane steering wheel. Customers can choose from four colors: Super White, Flint Mica, Black Sand Pearl and Classic Silver Metallic. A Scion tC with the Spec Package will have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $15,000 with a manual transmission, and $15,800 with an automatic transmission. The tC Spec Package is expected to hit showrooms in June. Mark Templin, Scion vice president, stated: “We brought this model to the market specifically for the tuner who wants to start modifications with a clean palette.” This is good news for the specialty-equipment market—a “clean palette” for tuners to start with means more specialty-equipment purchases.
