Default New Supercharger Intake I made

I had my Umnitza intake siting around in my basement doing nothing so I decided to put it in but I didnt like how the box fit or how quiet it was. What I did was took off the part where the MAF mounts, took off the box and mounted a big cone filter on the other end of the MAF tube. It works great, I can hear my BPV go Woosh, and best of all I dont lose any power at the upper RPM band, actually at ~5700 rpm the car will throw you back into the seat, its pretty neat.

have you checked your A/F, from reading before changing the intake out onthe S/C makes it lean out more then i am comfortable with thats why i just sold my intake when i got my supercharger.

why do you say that? since the supercharger isn't intercooled, making the intake a CAI would be great considering the limited avaliability of cooling methonds for the supercharger. intercooler and water/meth injection.

but then again, since the supercharger does loose boost if the intake piping is too long like on the intercooler...so maybe a shortram is the better one because any additional piping to make it a cai would just get lost in boost pressure...hmmm...maybe you don't need a cai with the s/c...

well the s/c airbox gets the air from the fender only cause of the rubber mouth thing included with the kit, you could take off the cover of the fake side vent and so allow fresher air into that fender side

Lower temperature incoming = lower temperature after S/C

ps - if you sell it, I will buy!

I want to hear woosh on the S/C I just bought!

A little birdy also told me that I have made up to 10.5 psi of boost on extremely cold nights now.....

^ that's awesome.... do you think it's possible to add more piping to where the filter is? Or only the filter right there would work?

yeah, you did the injen intake. i was talking about that umnitza intake. after the MAF sensor, maybe add some piping like the one from my K&N and then make it a CAI. I'm thinking of buying a used injen and then cutting that one up.

Doing a custom intake on a SC tC is not a good idea, just like gjpjr84 said, you're probably running a bit lean, this is only a good idea when you are planning on tuning with a piggy back, you might not feel any difference now, but with time you might, not knocking your work, looks good, just not safe.

Ditto... Definitely NOT a good idea to alter anything on the stock airbox unless you can tune. Major problems will arise...
