I don't believe you really need an intercooler with this kind of setup. First of all the turbo will be in a well ventilated and cooler place then the engine bay is, and the pipe you put, to deliver air, will also be cooled off, by air running under the car. As long as you don't turn the boost up really high, you should be much better off then a stage 0 kit. just don't drive in deep water. It depends on how cost effective you want to get. An intercooler would help out, but if you goal is to get this under 1000 then you def don't need one.

Watching this thread. Completely curious to see how it works, but I don't seem to get it.

Ok, turbo in the back, then piping all the way back to the stock manifold? Then where does it go? I just don't seem to understand. But I can tell you right now, you pull it off I'll do it right after you.

The turbo would be spooled by the exhuast piping, then the compressed air would travel up to the throttle body and enter the engine as normal. I dont know where the intake would be.

We discussed this b4 on here. I wanted to do this a while back i put my car on a lift and there is NO ROOM for the charge pipe from the back of the car to the front that i could see.

Trust me when i say This is a bad idea. I tried to custom make a STS style turbo kit on my old Z28. It cost me about 2k total. It was the biggest waste of money ever. I had the great idea to buy most of the kit off ebay. I got a T4 72mm turbo that was made by MasterPower, A oil pump similar to the one posted here, Oil lines, Fittings, Flanges, BOV, Custom made the pipes at a local muffler shop. Needless to say it was a big P.O.S. Turbo started having problems after about 5 miles. My oil lines broke, and the pump that returns oil is freakin LOUD. trust me it is not worth it. Just but the stage 0 from ZPI.
