Default Noob questions on e-man sys...

Alright. I have been around for a while, but I can still have a noob question or two. I have looked in various threads, and found differing answers. Besides, I am very suspicious when it comes to some peoples claims on gains. So here goes:

What exactly does adding e-man sys do for you? I mean I have a vague idea that it changes AFR, and might pull timing (?), but what is the bottom line when it comes to adding actual whp? What can reasonably be expected in terms of gains? From what I can see / have read, it may only add something like 12 - 21 whp. From a $/whp standpoint, it seems like it is an expensive adder after install.

One other thing... it seems that adding a pully along can net you that (ZPI states that there pulley adds 21 hp) for much less money. I suppose if you add both, then reasonably you can be looking at 21 who gains for sure.

Don't flame me too hard... I am a desk jockey afterall.

Thanks.

Your gonna have to have a engine management system no matter what. Dont look at Emanage getting you gain's. Look at it as saving ur motors life.

ZPI doesn't state 21whp with their pulley. They state 12whp.

I know nothing about e-man... which is why I was asking some of my own questions... but that was before my SC failed.

Your list of mods state you have a s/c.... if that is so, I would NOT do anything to the SC... you will need the warranty.... trust me!

I am SOOOO glad I did not make any mods to the SC!

In the long run a T/C would be less expensive than the S/C. :D

The eman is going to allow a tuner to changing the fuel added at a given rpm. The stock ecu is tuned for all climates - once you change your engine parts or add FI a new tune can greatly benefit you. ....adding hp lower in the band ...shifting your power band ... and/or giving you better hp delivery. Just make sure that if you go w/ any kind of management - get a wideband gauge at the least so you can see how things are running. Hope that small amount of info helps.

Have u tuned an e-manage sometime? No? Then let it for the proffesionals. This is not something everyone can do it. People with experience is always better. If u can learn how to in the process. Then Better yet.

so if tuned professionally do u still need a piggyback or emanage? (not even sure what a piggyback is...)
if u get it tuned once then thats it or u do have to get it tuned periodically (assuming no more mods have been done)
thx for replyin btw (very eager to learn)

e-manage is a piggyback and yes you would need a profesinal to tune it. U only tune it everytime u add something that needs it. Like a bigger turbine.

An emanage is a computer - unless you know exactly what needs to be changed - leave it up to a pro. Its an art that people that have been around on a daily basic have mastered. Trust me - there have been many people that have thought they knew what was best ....but ended up w/ blown engines. - let someone that knows the right things to do tune your emanage.

curiousity killed the cat

dyno + eman = "perfection"
do they go hand-in-hand?
or is it possible to dyno w/o eman?
i think that sounded ridiculous....
but just to make sure with the wise ones
