Default NST Pulleys rock the chit and let me tell you why.

I have an NST 9.5 pulley. Its awesome. The build quality of its fantastic and it actually makes the full 9.5 pounds of boost (weather permitting). The car pulls so much harder with it versus the stock pulley. For the 95 dollars for it plus 28 for the belt (get it from napa), its the best per dollar horsepower gain for the supercharger you can get. They can even custom make you what ever size you want! Best bang for your buck, period. Even if safety is a concern the stock TRD fuel map is so rich that the car actually runs better with this pulley on it versus the stock one.

My Road Test.
Dreadfully I had to take off my 9.5 pulley and put back on the stock one to try and get toyota to warranty my catalytic converters constantly blowing apart. Anyway the first thing I noticed after putting the stock pulley back on is how much it sucks to drive now. The power just isnt there to me anymore in the higher RPM's. There is no longer me being able to just punch it in 2nd and break free the tires. Gone also is the car knocking you back in the seat when it starts rapidly building boost after 5k rpm.

Conclusion.
Get the NST pulley, install it, and be merry!!!

I'm putting mine on this weekend ... I can't wait!

I happened to get one of the older black ones with no writing on it from a member here. Looks a lot like the stock pulley to the untrained eye.

Thank you for the kind words everyone. By now it is pretty much the majority consensus that the NST pulley is the TRD SC's best friend

Enjoy the extra boost everyone

Nice. Do you have to tune or adjust anything? Or is it just install and go?

Just install and go. Change the belt if you get a different size pulley.

The effectiveness of this product is indeed undeniable and the quality is absolutely top notch. I have one myself and enjoyed it while I could. After "experimenting" with a few sc's, a couple motors and multiple cats runnnig 9.5 psi and using the Forge 007 BPV I have come to the conclusion that it is not entirely safe to run this setup on just the TRD tune nor is it fair to state that it is as a fact. It should come with fair warning. So...you've been warned.

I am a bit weary myself as I have the 007 and 9.5lb pulley on my car and I don't want to kill it but you are one out of how many who haven't hat trouble? I think its more fair to say most of the problems are the result of sloppy assembly/installation on the part of the dealer.

I ran a 9.5 pulley for over a year with a full injen cai and had no problems at all. It was weird in the winter I was seeing around 10.5 psi at redline with a/f of 11:2 at the top. In the summer I was getting 10:8 - 10:0 at the top. Plenty of fuel even with a cai. NST 9.5 FTW
