are you still running the unichip with it or ditching it? So considering it and going with the emanage. Cant find a decent unichip tuner locally.

Using Unichip since we're waiting on the Dezod Harness and the Emanage Ultimate to come in.

Have you thought about going a better route then the Ultimate? If it were me, I would go AEM EMS or something along those lines.

Nu_ERA, will your head be better than the ZPI Stage II? Will you be able to increase your redline at all?

His block is sleeved (aka: will hold up to 70 psi)... so it is better than the Stage II.. Redline can be increased with the Emanage Ultimate..

I know the emanage allows you to increase it but how much will his engine tolerate?

with an all titanium valve train, he should be able to run about 8000rpm with no problem, however the stock cams will limit the power to where you won't gain anything up there. So probably set the rev limit to like 7500rpm or so...maybe 7000. Once it is on the dyno you will be able to see where the power is being made. Once it starts falling off, there is no reason to set the rev limit any higher as no power will be made.

The Cams will be stock until I hear a word from Crower or someone else. Was thinking of goin with the RippMOD cams but the only help a tad so we'll see. Now from my understanding on ZPI's stage II is pretty good but I went with a full Ferrea valvetrain and oversized the ports etc. This head was built and cost almost as much as the motor itself so I made sure this is, if not, one of the sickest built heads on a tC today.

Now the Emanage is for the other tC build by bro has going. I will be using AEM EMS when it gets in being were in the process of getting a AEM EMS made for the tC but no part number yet I will go AEM period. So until then I will use the Ultimate to break it in. I will be shootin for a 7800 rpm level but we'll see where the power curve will fall off at when its gettin tuned.

Sounds like you have done your research. It is good to see someone who actually knows what they are talking about build a turbo tC and not just throw it together. You are right about the Ripp Mods cams, they were designed for the supercharger, and probably wouldn't help much for a turbo setup as the boost is delivered much differently.

That head will pretty much be bullet proof, so you should have plenty of redline available depending on the power delivery on the dyno. I didn't see what type of main and rod bearings you are using, but with the Pauter rods and JE pistons, the bottom end will be fine on a higher rpm application as well, just be sure it is balanced to extreme specs...which I believe you already stated it was done to within 0.5grams.

I really want to build another engine...It was so much fun to build that 2.4L quad 4. Perhaps I will build an EJ25 for my WRX...but it would be cheaper to buy the STI version of the motor and just drop it in.

I need a project car.

Good luck man...that AEM should kick some major a$$ too. Standalones rock.

Bearings are from ZPI being they use a ACL bearings from my understanding. I check every company and they all said no bearings were available so they should be fine.

I was thinking of goin with a STI after this being I love the way a Subi looks and love that exhaust growl under boost. AWD is king of the 60 footer lol I will post pics and info soon, were kinda detoured a little being my bros tC needs to be finished
