o2 sensor wiring issues
Hey guys hope this is in the right section, i am tring to wire my second o2 sensor for my narrow band gauge in preporation for my impending turbo install in the mail now comming tommrow . (i know very inaccurate and slow but my friend gave me one and i thought i should use it untill i get a wideband)
So i welded an extra bung in my spipe and put a 4 wire narrow band o2 sensor in there.
what i tried to do to was to simply jump the wires of the o2 sensor which are
1 grey
1 black
2 white
and hazza my narrow band o2 sensor had the same color of wires
so i simply matched up the colors besides the black one (signal)
and crossed my fingers. however the gauge did not read and my cheack engine light came on.
i think perhapes the wires are different from my o2 so if any one has the diagram for a seconary o2 wires that would be great
how should i wire the o2 sensor.
Thanks for reading can wait to be boosted to join the club

Cant really help you with the info your looking for but let me just say you really want a wideband before throwing that turbo on. Dont mess with that narrow band when it comes to boosting. Just trying to save you an engine. Take it from a guy that has been threw it all and boosted for the last 2years and self tuned. Just scrap this narrow band project and wait for the wideband before throwing the turbo on.

I agree...but for knowledge sake, the two black wires are grounds, with a meter you can figure out what the other two are. one of them is a constant 12v (thats for the o2 heater) the other will have a voltage that will vary (that will be the sensor sig)

thanks for the input guys i will be putting a wide band in for sure got the thing working wired it up separately on a relay a lot of work for some lights flashing lights it seems to work quite nicely its an auto meter gauge connected to an NTK o2 sensor one so for now it should show me if i am dangerously lean. under boost (Low 5psi) that is until i get an AEM fic but at least i am ready for the wide band o2 with the second bung installed
