Hey Joe,
I have IIP so of course I would lean towards blue. As for the exhaust I would want it tucked firstly then either would be fine. Black is nice so I don't have to worry about cleaning it and doesn't show off to everyone behind me. Nice strong attractive tip, oval would be good. I prefer MagnaFlow performance mufflers as they offer amazing sound and straight through flow.
Also on the 3" exhaust... I think a 2.5" should still flow pretty well. Usually a 3" exhaust is reserved for those with 300+ hp. At least coming form the MR2 world. My MR2 has 2.5" and it flows great. 3" on the downpipe to and thru the s-pipe, 2.5" from there back should be fine.

So... The general agreement is tucked away OEM style setup, with either a rust proof flat black or stainless. OEM style oval or round tip that's stainless or polished to avoid corosion. 3" turbo-back system with a strong chance of a CARB approved high flow cat.

That would be our first released and most basic turbo kit.
We're doing 2 stages for multiple reasons. The stage 1 is a streetable setup that's capable of over 350WHP with proper upgrades. The Stage 2 is a larger turbo that's more efficient at a higher PSI level. That turbo is ball bearing with a larger exhaust AR and other misc upgrades.

I don't understand. Will you be providing a full exhaust system with the turbo kit?
Colorwise, I like plished, black, or anodized red for everything, in that order.

I HATE the stock exhaust. I LOVE the Injen exhaust and the angle of the HKS, but the HKS is a bit large. I figure, if I'm gonna spend that much on performance for my car, I want everyone to know it, wheather we are racing or not! Because I probably wont' be racing (I do have kids to think about ) But since it seams you will go with a tucked, OEM style exhaust, do you know how well the kit will work with the Injen exhaust? Being that it's just an axle back, will you provide the piping up to the axle? I dont' know what the diameter on the Injen is either, so would it cause problems if it is smaller then your tubing?
Oh, and I deffinatly think a boost controller should be included, or at least optional, so we can change settings dpending on what we are doing...street, drag, track, etc.

The Injen exhaust will work fine with out kits. The base kit with no upgrades will still come with an S-pipe, at least that's what we're shooting for. That will work with any stock or aftermarket exhaust system out there. Our 3" kits will only be to get the most out of the system, without turning it into a pimp my ride car. So needless to say, differen't size diameters will never break the car, only hinder some of it's true potential.
All turbo kits will come with a basic manual boost controller (as long as it's requested) but have an option for an EBC as an upgrade.
The minimum PSI rating will be 8.7psi. After that, you can turn up the boost, but can't go any lower. We're doing this for optimum performance. Ideally, you don't want to run about 30-40% more than the external wastegate's setting. 8.7psi x 1.35 (35%)=11.7psi. You have a nice smooth upgrade curve, and with a larger psi spring (replaces the wastegate's 8.7psi spring, you could effectively run about 18-19psi on the stock kit (not a stock motor though!).

I guess that's one way of looking at it. We're marketing a complete package, not just a bolt in FI kit. It'll give you everything you need, using the best components. There's always upgrades of the same stuff you have, but this turbo is built specifically for our engine, at the boost level we're selling the kit with.
A clutch would definately help, and we can work that into a package for you.

Well Joe, I just finished reading the entire 95 page thread on 7thgencivic.com that started a year ago when you developed that turbo kit. (took me a while)
I must say, you're an absolute slave to your customers/prospective customers answering every question that came up.

So, are you really having Nexus/Alphawerks create the manifolds this time around? If so, I think that's very cool, they make some great stuff!

I still agree that Alphawerks manifolds are top notch 100% quality. There's one problem we're having though; getting one. We can't even get a prototype from them for testing yet so I'm worried that using them as a primary vendor for our kits will cause some extreme backorders and delays. That's the exact opposite of what we want. We're trying one other company right now that makes some rediculous race machines so I know they have the knowledge to help us achieve our goals.

Joe, would you recomend either of these kits with an auto and have any kind of longevity, or is turboing an auto @ 8.7psi not intelegent? Seems like an overdone question, but always seems to come up since there arnt any numbers on what the auto will hold.

What stinks is that we wont have an Auto tC to test the kit on until it's sold. I may possbly work out a deal with "English (SL)" to test the tranny out. Im assuming it'll hold 8.7 with a good tranny cooler. But we'll probably play it safe and ship the kits closer to the 6psi range.
BTW - So I don't hog the credit from 7thgen... The owner on 7thgencivic.com is Dezod. I'm as Madwheel on there. But we both contributed to a lot of people's threads and are working together on this one. I was the techie guy on those boards, finding out things that broke and what we could do to fix them.
