^ no fins on your turbo ? do you have that much shaft play that the impeller makes contact with the compressor housing ?

why is this thread not updated anymore ?

and i have a question, by looking at my dyno graph, how come my TQ hits its peak at 4K rpm and then at around 5k starts to drop and by redlin from 375 it goes to like 310 and my HP keep going up to redline ?

I can't see your dyno chart (the image must be block here by my work PC) but when your TQ drops down thats usually a sign of a boost leak. I had the same issue and it killed a turbo, luckily precision still replace it for free. If I where you Id do a boost leak down to save a potential headache if the leak turns out to be the case.

this is because Horsepower is nothing more than an equation that takes into account how much twisting power the motor is making (torque), multiplying that by the amount of revolutions per minute, divided by 5250 (HP FACTOR).

As long as the torque isnt dropping any faster than by the inverse amount that the engine is turning, your HP should increase or hold steady.

ok guys here are all the dyno graphs that i have. I zoomed in on them as much as i could so you can see TQ and HP. TQ is darker line.

1) On this run we were doing 19 psi and my radiator hose popped off at 5K RPM so we didnt finish tuning it on that high of a boost and decided to stay with 16 psi max for now so i could drive it while i was on R&R.

As you can see by dyno's that TQ curve is slightly dropping the closer it is to redline which is set to 7K btw, what do you guys think is this normal or do i have a boost leak somewhere ?

After we were done tuning we did discover an extremely small crack on the welds of the manifold.

Good power for a S1 with a monster turbo.

The crack could result in your pressure loss over higher RPMs and cause a need for retuning

yes we are going to retune for 20psi as high setting or more like my brother will drop the car off at Vinny's shop once i order new spal fans and koyo radiator. Also my brother is going to reweld the manifold and weld in flex pipes in the s-pipe and downpipe. Also we are going to install silicone radiator hoses so nothing pops off anymore hopefully. We were kind of worried about the hose popping off as Vinny was concerned if its a head gasket or poorly secured hose. Turned out to be just fine and it was just a hose. Also we experienced no smoke anywhere, oil did not smell and we put everything in its place and make few more test runs on 12 psi and power was pretty much the same as the graph posted above.

Paul so these dyno graphs are not 100% like they supposed to be ? if everything is 100% would TQ also grow or stay at its peak all the way to red line ?

TQ will typically fall off as redline approaches. Not all the time, but usually. This is contingent heavily on the exact setup, supporting mods and tuning. The curves look broad and good Yev. It must a blast to drive.

you must have a very conservative tune. with the mods you have listed, you should be making way more power on a dynojet @ 16 psi. once you get back, and you get comfortable with the cars ability to take the power, you should throw some timing at it. im sure you have ALOT left in the car. i also recommend upgrading to the alpha series manifold.

Alpha series will be a good upgrade, but get a twin clutch and LSD and you will be able to get more usable power..

Yes these tunes are conservative as i told Vinny to keep safe but with power in mind so he did what he was comfartable with and being safe and not to overstress the motor too much.
If i upgrade to alpha kit manifold that mean i would have to get a new turbo which i honestly dont want at this time because my current turbo is brand spaking new and has less then 500 miles on it including tuning..and i paid almost a G for that turbo.

Just as i mentioned to brett if i upgrade to alpha kit manifold i will have to get a new turbo which i dont feel like doing because my turbo is brand new. I will upgrade to an EL manifold later on but it will have to be for T3.

As far as clutch i have a brand new ACT HD street clutch and so far its been doing good Well its brand new as well, so we'll see how long it holds up, but yes after its done i will upgrade to twin disk.

LSD right now is one of the top things i need to get and it is on my list.

My list is as follows.
1) Rims and tires
2) LSD
3) Coilovers.

btw i have a question to you about your Tien SSP coils.
How do you like them ?
