Default Oil pressure > 100 psi?

I finally got my oil pressure gauge in the car and it shows around 60psi around idle and over 100 (--- on the screen) when im driving. Is that right?

Im running a digital AEM Oil Pressure gauge, is something wrong with it?

Mine shows 60 when I first start, then after it warms up it goes to 45 cruziing and sits at 10 or so at idle....mine has NEVER gone over 85 even at full boost.

is that after warmed up?
What year is your car? I think the 05-06 were fine but the 07-08 may need a restricter in the line.
Also, where do you have it tapped? At the block with a T or at the filter with a sandwitch adapter?

its digital... i could probobly put a resistor in the line of the sensor to lower the voltage coming back

the restricter is not a digital restrictor.
From what I understand, it actually restricst oil going to the turbo setup...it goes in your oil line.

that oil pressure sounds too high, never heard of a tc going that high.. java i believe is an 08 but his oil pressure is about same as ours.. did you not put too much oil in your car? that oil pressure will blow your turbo seals, if you are a ballbearing even worst.. An oil restrictor is a fitting that has a very small hole/outlet/orifice to restrict oil or avoid too much oil going to the turbo, you will need it when the oil pressure is too high.. you would definitely need it but you have to check the problem maybe a bad sensor too?

Im thinking bad sensor as well. my 07 reads pretty much what meatys does. (I also have the aem oil pressure gauge)

I assume you got the aem boost gauge which has an almost identical sensor, I think you may have swapped them. I did at first and my readings where just like yours. just try taking each sensor out and swap them...try that and let us know

would that cause the boost to read wrong?

I looked today and after warming up im getting 40 psi @ idle, but still jumps over 100 under power.

I didnt know you can have the boost and oil pressure gauge interchanged, Boost gauge sensor is connected through a vacuum hose and the oil pressure sensor is through a wiring harness so I dont know how possible it is to be swapped. But 100 is way too much, mine idles at cold start 50s then 40s, after driving for a while is down to 8-14 psi.. cruise will be 40-60 and Wot around 60-70.. again verify how you get too much pressure then check with another oil pressure gauge to see if your sensor is accurate

Yea - i think they are different.

Can i check oil pressure with a scanner?

the harness going to the gauge for both are exactly the same and can be interchanged(i know i did that at first) and the end of the harness that plugs in the sensors are exactly the same. Ill try and get some pics up to show how and what readings you would get.

My boost gauge is reading correctly, so i dont think this is the case
