Default OK, The Piggyback VS Standalone thread!!

As there has been many posts about it..

But not specfically for my setup soo.. Here we go

"Motor"
CP 9.1 pistons
stock sleves
Race engineering bearings
Carillo a-beam rods
Cometic hg
Arp studs

"Turbo"
Garret 60-1 .63 Ar

"Wastegate"
New style tial V band. With 1.7 bar spring

"bov"

Tail 55mm

"Fuel"
P-tunning 900cc injectors as soon as they start shipping
Golden eagle fuel rail 6an with fuel return line
walbro 225 lph

"Manifold"
Custom made Top mount

"I C piping"

Custom made 2.5 inch piping.

"IC"

Greddy Ic

...

I live In Upstate ny so dezod is local for tunning..

I plan on running 1.7 bar on this setup hopefully somewere around 400-450 whp

So Now my question is..

What EMS DO I USE!

I was planning on using the aem ems. But the price is crazy. but within budget.
but emmissions will suck and loosing ac will also

The ultimate looks promising because it can rasie redline provide 2 step but no PTT(part throtle tunning)

Aem fic.. Pretty much not even an option since everyday someone else has problems with it..

Hydra ems.. Pretty much know nothing about it or if dezod can tune it

Please help im going crazy!

get the ultimate....yank out your primary o2 sensor and you have partial throttle tuning ability....i have the ultimate and took out both 02 sensors and am running a blow thru maf setup...i love it...only thing about the ultimate vs standalone is ultimate has a 16x16 map and most standalones have a 32x32 map....GREDDY SHOULD UPDATE TO A 32x32 MAP(i was hoping someone from greddy would read that :p)

when you take the primary 02 out it throws your car in open loop 3 at all times...therefore you can tune partial throttle tuning and your oem ecu wont overide it because it has no feedback from the o2.....i love the blow thru setup and your the first person ive heard sayin they go bad sooner....reckon i need to buy another maf just incase

I would like to lay in on the whole removing the 02 sensors. Yes, you can tune part throttle with them removed. But from my experience, I pretty much had to have my laptop plugged into the car every day since the weather would change from day to day (down to below freezing one day, and then 60 the next, that's TN for you). It was a pain if you ask me to have to constantly monitor the car every start up. When I finally got to plugging my sensors back in, the car felt like it was boosted from the factory, it was so smooth. And that's because the 02's regulate the A/F ratio in those lower cells.

But anyhow, onto the more important topic. It boils down to this....

If you don't have Emissions or have to worry about Emissions then Hydra FTW!

If you have to go through Emissions then Emanage Ultimate FTW!

Both are no headache setups.

If you go the AEM options, good luck. IMO, both AEM options are not "designed" for the tC and are more or less Hacked up versions to work on the tC (somewhat that is).

i also had issues with the constant weather changing here also...i used the coolant temp map to fix most of that....i guess i just love to be able to do partial boosting...i use my second gear alot and hated seeing lean afr's in partial boost with my o2's in...i guess its a personal opinion thing...to me the benefits outweigh the heartache

They will go bad if you leave them in the exhaust pipe and only just disconnected. Should take them out of the car all the way.

Weekdays are better than weekends. Less people.

hydra ftw! dezod can for sure tune it, even a noob like me lol.. of course dezod would prefer their aem standalone unit.. emission test would be your problem though those would throw a cel on OBD reader but not on your dash.. no matter what
