i did search. i found out that the open dump u get a lil more power out of the turbo application u are running but the recirculated dump is quieter? i was just wondering what ppl are recommending for turbo applications. honestly if its just sound and the open dump gives more power then def that. but if there is anything else dealing with the two pls post it up. still searching by the way!!!

i run recirc on mine but depending on how close it goes back into the downpipe will affect the flow of the exhaust gases. my recirc is so close that it runs slightly higher back pressure but not enough to do any damage. it's mainly to be quieter, just to keep the pigs at bay. unfortunately the rest of my exhaust (or lack of) attracts them like flies

Yeah, the WG only opens up when you are at full boost...when I was at 5psi, I'd be open all the time, and yeah, it's loud...now I"m at 9psi and I hardley ever hit full boost on regular driving.

I hardly ever get into boost, but when I do boost, I love the looks I get because of the open dump

yeah...funny thing is, I was running at 6 for a year, now I have a setting for 6 and 9...ran 9 for like a week, went back to 6 for maybe a day and was like SCREW THIS! I'm running 9 everyday now!
But still, if I don't floor it all the time every gear, I don't reach 9, so the WG doesn't open up...controll is good...

Not true at all! The WG valve is always moving open and closed. As the boost progresses toward the spring pressure, the valve begins to open more and more. When the spring pressure is achieved, it's wide open. So in essence, it's open a tad at 0 VAC, and progresses to wide open by spring pressure.

o really? well dang. this still poses a problem. damn. dont want to hear the dump 24/7 even though it will be fast. i still want to have a quiet car. just want to hear the turbo and the exhaust. and that BA goose BOV when i hit full boost lol. so idk still contemplating. recirculated or open dump. which also makes it hard to choose from the Dezod s1 and the TT stage 1. damn.

I have it recirc'd and you cannot hear the wastegate at all, just the turbo!... ;)

Unless you're going for an allout beast, the loss is neglible and a good tradeoff for the lack of noise...

OK...paul...I'll buy that...but then it's not nearly as loud untill you hit full boost.
In any event...at 9psi, when I'm normally only hitting 5-6psi around town, I barely hear the WG.

Don't be confused by what Paul_Dezod wrote. He was just being technical. You will NOT, I say again, NOT hear the WG until you are hitting full boost. Drive normal, and it sounds like a normal car with an exhaust and a turbo.
