Hmm..."DipLESS". Paul's explanation was that the Auto Tranny shifts caused the dips in the other dyno graph. However, Petey's car is auto as well, but it seems to be a lot smoother. Paul, care to chime in on this?

And whoever it was that tried to say it only dynoed 215whp, didn't look at the graph. It shows 215whp with a DASH out to the side that shows the specific point it has 215whp. Not the peak hp being 215.. Peak is 222whp as you stated Petey...Good Job..

And thanks for finding that dyno graph.

The graph looks as if it was shifted foward. Our peak RPM is 6500. According to the graph, it would state he didn't start building boost till like, 5280rpm. 16G is known to hit full boost by like 2-3krpm. So, thing I can think would be that the graph was shifted to the right.

When they dyno autos, they would usually let the tranny shift by itself, thus, creating the "dips" in the graph. Look at the RPM range of that graugh. The pull was done in one gear, and high RPM. The car might be putting out even more power; the graph only shows a very small part of the powerband.

smoothed out as in "altered"? As in some dyno's look like earthquake graphs and others don't?

Even if the dyno produced a smooth line graph, it still would show significant dips in power.

Peteyd smoothing factor is 5 which is why his curve is crazy smooth. It takes an average of all points plotted and makes the best smooth curve to fit it. Jeff's dyno was done from 0-redline showing the shifts with zero smoothing factor.

Not to mention, Peteyd's dyno was done from 5200 rpms up probably in final gear on the auto. Not a very accurate depiction of the power it has/may have but hey it gives ya some what of an idea what's going on.

THAT is why the graphs look drastically different Rhythm

Like apples to oranges in this case.

Why does everything on here seem to be made out to be all full of drama, suspense and controversy?

So, being that the dyno was done from 5200 rpm up and probably in the final gear, Is it possible he is making MORE power or LESS power than what the graph is showing?

No drama, contreversy...Just want an understanding for comparision sake.

(Torque x Engine speed) / 5,252 = Horsepower

Derive accordingly.

You give me a math equation....

Thanks for the straight forward answer.

A simple YES or NO would have sufficed.

Simple reason why. Everything on here turns to controversy or a ____ing match at best. I don't want to get into it. So I will just interject the facts and but out.

How do you do 5200 rpms in the final gear. Were you going really fast? I've never got mine above 4000rpms in mine and I was cruising at close to hundred.
