the question i have is why would you use stock rods if you are replacing the pistons anyway? i mean, your already right there to replace with some nice forged ones to take the punishment. why not take advantage of it?

Please whatever you do don't change the pistons without changing the rods. It will give you nothing but a false sense of security.

Piston, rods, and bearing are good to build the short block and that should take you to 400hp with no problems. If you wanna be safer or go more power then sleeve the motor. If you want to get crazy then do all of the above and build the head too so you can rise the rev limiter.
