that has to do with the secondary o2 sensor, the reason its comeing up is the fact you are no longer running a catalytic converter. the fix for this is to use two short anti-foulers...do a search and you will see what im talking about. the two anti-foulers screw onto the secondary o2 sensor (one of the anti-foulers is drilled out with a 1/2" drill bit, thats the first one to screw onto the sensor. The second is left undrilled and screws onto the first anti-fouler. then the whole thing is put back on the s-pipe, this keeps the sensor far enough out of the exhaust stream to a point where it simulates having a cat inplace.

Here's an alternative solution that works at least as well and it's 304 SS. I've been using this for about 30k miles now without a single P0420 code. They also sell a straight one for $15 that would be the same as 2 stacked HELP anti-foulers.

You can also buy very similar 304 SS units from Tsudo, Weapon-R, Strup, Megan, etc. I haven't tested the Big Daddy "Mini-Cat" but it's a very cool idea.

Yeah, I really wanted to try the mini-cat but $50 was a bit too steep for me.
