Preparing for S/C

Preparing for S/C
Hi, I"m new to the forums so yay to that.
I have been saving for a turbo for a while now (2 years really) but now that the price for the S/C has gone down to 1900 @ sparks I can go ahead and purchase the S/C. Besides i don't know much about the cars in general so getting a turbo would probably be over my head.
Anyways what i really wanted to ask was, Are there any other upgrades i should get before or ASAP to make my car better maintain the extra power? And is supercharger Mounting bracket needed?
thanks in advance, also any extra information for a forced induction noob would help.

nothing really. the kit comes with everything you need. if you were going turbo then upgrade clutch and all that but the supercharger and stock clutch get along fairly well.
you only need the mounting bracket if you get the regular supercharger kit. the special edition kits float, so they don't need the mounting bracket.

On-topic - You won't need anything more than your SC kit as far as parts go, but you will need a reflash from the dealership if you're installing yourself.

So I just called several 2 dealers in my area (actually more, but their service departments were closed). And one said it would cost $1000 for install, while the other said they had never done one and would call me back later with the price, however he did mention that normally they charge $80 an Hour.
When monday comes around i will call the others and see what they say.... Um, anyone know of a good place in the Birmingham area? (Alabama). Serra Toyota charged the $1000 and Hoover Toyota was the ones who didn't know.

you wanna take it to a dealer who had done them before. even tho you will be under warranty, you just want the tech to know what they are doing so u dont have to go back if there are any problems, which is so inconvienent

like he asked, is there anything i should take care of now before i have the s/c installed... should i have any internals upgraded... clutch, injectors, anything, i know mostly it wont be neccessary to change in order to have the s/c but would it help it to run more efficiently?

You'll get new injectors with the kit, which is pretty nice. There really isn't anything you have to do first, as long as your car has been maintained well and is in proper working order.
The SC only gives a 15-20 ftlb increase, so the stock clutch has no problem handling it.
