Default Problems tuning TRD flashed ecu

I have talked with a handful of people who have had problems tuning the trd reflashed ecu with a piggyback. Symptoms were bad idle and erratic afr's while not in boost. If you have had a problem with this please post what was going on and what you did to fix it. I'm gonna take a guess that most just went back to an n/a ecu.

if ur gonna get tuned with a piggyback it's better not to have the reflash...unfortunately i can't help you because i didn't have the reflash, i just had the piggyback, but i remember hearing a lot of people had problems with this as the reflash kept overriding the piggyback. Maybe ur best bet is to get the original ecu settings from the dealer and then get it tuned

Before I got rid of the charger, every few months, my AFR would lean out cause the supercharger ECU kept overriding my tune. It's expensive to keep getting retuned. So I bought an ECU from a junkyard and idle went steady again . So invest in a ECU that hasn't had airbags deployed haha.

it doesn't over ride on idle or partial throttle as long as you don't mess with it and for me all I did was take away alot of timing n wide open throttle. Best bet get a stock ecu and tune off of that what I think. I got one for sale. Pm me

My car still have the reflash, and I am turbo now. Everything seems fine, for now. If your idle is a jumpy I think its the ecu fighting wit your tune. the reflash is a little rich but i think u should be fine. as long not lean.

It doesn't matter which ecu you have the oem ecu will override the piggyback at part throttle regardless of tune. It must be something in the way you have to tune a flashed oem ecu compared to a stock oem ecu causing the extra issues.

Hmmm...

not that I want to elaborate a whole lot on this but...

its the tuning of the piggyback.

as the reflash ecu works allot better than a non reflash when tuning a piggyback.

^^ i thought the opposite as the reflash pulls rediculous timing... jsut what i thought..

the reflash does pull rediculous amounts of timing just so you wont blow anything. when i was supercharged it pulled alot of timing with my 12 psi pulley and when i changed to a custom turbo it pulled 20 something degrees of timing on boost so we had to add timing then it pulled less timing then it pulled more timing when we took out timing man the whole ecu was going bananas. so then i ended up getting a stock ecu and gonna get re-tuned soon! but the reflash is a very safe ecu that does its best not to blow anything up pretty much. but as far as idle my idle was good with a supercharger but with my turbo the idle was jumpy.
