Ok, back on topic:

- CAN Bus output. Can connect to an aftermarket digital dash with just a few wires (CAN Protocol) rather than a huge mess of wires.

Up until this point, to my knowledge only the Hydra was the only other unit with that feature. I'm LOVING it already. can you Say "AIM Dash kit feed by the PTuning ECU".

I just got off the phone with Brian, and he was mentioning that you guys will be showcasing the new unit. Tighty everything up, and get your butts down here....hehe. You probably won't read this until AFTER this weekend, but we are working out the logistics for the first come first serve paddock area. See you guys in Pit Lane.

Yes, it uses the CAN protocol (digital 0s and 1s) for the interface and it supports both the AIM dash (e.g. MXL) , Racepak dash (e.g. IQ3). We will explore and test out all of the ecu's feature as we continue to test and develop maps specifically for the forced induction tC.

BTW, the built-in boost controller feature (with the optional boost solenoid) is amazing, we were able to make a perfectly flat boost curve straight across to redline (+/- .3 psi) --something that could not be achieved with a MBC or wastegate spring pressure. But we will focus most of our development time on the gear-dependent boost control--since traction is the biggest issue with high-power FWD cars.

And we will be pulling some all nighters to get the car together for the RTA in Nashville, so if possible save us two spots in the garage paddock for the tc and the vette.

Why all the mentions of the Dezod unit here? Until both units are out, it's pretty pointless to try and compare. Regardless of unit, I'm sure it will be priced for the level of performance it gives, i.e. more tuneability = more $$. As the consumer, it will be up to you to determine how much is "good enough", and of course how much you're willing to spend. I'm not seeing that many 400 HP tCs out there, and you don't need standalone for a turbo at 260 WHP.

However, the tC r track racing segment seems to be growing, so for those guys this seems like it would definately be worth it. I'm curious about 1NZ use, VVTi programmability would be nice if I mod the cams. Now I just need to figure out how to get an auto trans to hold more than 150.

One other important feature that I forgot to mention is that the unit uses a proper USB connection to the ECU - no serial adapters required.

Also, the connectors on the ECU box are super nice - they're the same style ones used on the high end MOTEC ECUs - no Kung-Fu death grip required to remove the plugs.

If all goes as planned, this ECU will hit the market at about $1300-$1500 with plug and play harness.

Let's not go there, there's no need for that.

Price was mentioned above. We will eventually offer this ecu as an upgrade option with our turbo kit for those looking to maximize the full potential of our turbo kit, especially with our built motors, fuel system, 3" exhaust, pnp WMI kit, etc..

A standalone ecu is not for the masses--it's purpose is to give the tuner full control over all aspects of engine management, minus DBW and other auxliary functions that it doesn't care to control. Aftermarket standalone ecu that's ODBII-compliant doesn't exist for any vehicle. If you need to maintain OBDII for annual emissions scanning purposes in your area, stick with a piggy-back ecu (FIC, Emanage, etc.).
