PTUNING: Race Turbo Kit or Street Turbo Kit?
Time Attack @ VIR on October 3-5th will be the last race of the season for us.
Afterward, we will be concentrating on producing our turbo kit.
We would like to get your feedback on which kit to produce first.
The choice will be our RACE TURBO KIT or a STREET TURBO KIT.
RACE TURBO KIT:
* Includes custom racing radiator.
* No provision for factory A/C.
* Eliminates front bumper support
* Blow-thru MAF sensor setup
* Will look identical to the turbo setup currently on our Time Attack tC (see pics).
* Includes e-manage ultimate with dyno-tested base map, pressure sensor and fuel trim defender
* Higher cost (detail coming soon).
STREET TURBO KIT:
* Uses factory radiator.
* Retains factory A/C.
* Retains front bumper support
* Blow-thru MAF sensor setup
* Includes e-manage ultimate with dyno-tested base map, pressure sensor and fuel trim defender
* The intercooler pipings and intake piping will not look like our current turbo kit (more detail to come)
* Price will be competitive to most tC turbo kits currently on the market.
RACE & STREET TURBO KITS:
* Both kits will use our equal-length tubular SS manifold.
* Both kits will use our 3" v-band turbo downpipe.
* Both kits will include Garrett BB turbos.
* Both kits will use the same high-quality components (turbo, wastegate, bov, hardware, etc.)
Your vote and/or feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Regards,
Mike @ PTUNING

i say offer the choice of both, are you going to be mass producing them? or a by order type deal?
street would probably sell better but i say keep the race kit cuz sooon enough there will be people REALLY modifying this car.
also, please sell this manifold seperately, there aren't enough EL manifolds being sold for our car =(

as for the race kit, i would say, keep at least 1 or 2 kits ready to ship out. there will be other people who will buy the race kit, eventually.
edit: im glad you guys went with a blow thru set up for the MAF.

here's my .02... I would actually prefer the race setup... I would like a/c as well but I could always roll with windows down I just love the entire setup of the race kit.
If you could make the street kit upgradable to have the custom radiator and intercooler then that would be cool.
You could always just have a base setup, and have the rest upgradable. That would appeal to a lot of people.
My vote is street kit for a lower cost but I would love to rock the race kit! Hey, want to sponsor me?

also to add, I think you should still offer a radiator on your street setup. Offer something different that no one else offers with a kit. Oh, and I am very interested in seeing what the pricing of both kits would be as well as the intercooler piping of the street setup.

Thank you for your votes, and please keep all the comments coming.
We do take your comments/suggestions seriously when producing our turbo kit.
To answer some of your questions:
* Our goal is to develop a street turbo kit that will work with both manual and automatic transmissions.
* We may offer a option to upgrade the factory radiator with an aftermarket version.
* We will test our manifold with the different Garrett BB turbos. We may eventually offer the manifold for sell seperately for those who wish to design their own turbo kit.
* We will see if we can design our turbo kits to be modular enough that if you run the street turbo kit now, and wish to upgrade to the race version later, you can do it without having to change out the entire kit.
* We understand that pricing will be a major factor in your decision. As soon as we have a number, we will post it immediately.
Thank you, and please keep the votes, comments and suggestions coming.
