Default PTUNING: TA tC 500+WHP dynorun (vid and dynosheet)

We finally made time to get our TA tC back on the dyno. This time with 0 degrees front camber to maximize traction on the dyno rollers. We wanted to reaffirm our commitment to devoloping dyno proven products by giving the Scion community some numbers to go by. Saying a product should be good for X number of HP is one thing, but proving it is another.

Our TA tC runs exclusively on readily available 93 octane pump gas with a 50/50 mix of water methanol injection. Race gas + road racing = very expensive fuel bill. Honestly too, there really is no need for us to tune on race gas just yet. Maybe later on down the road.

This set-up is very efficient in terms of whp/psi. Take note too the very large area under the dyno curve. Max boost is 24psi tapering down to only 21psi near redline. Although we could probably turn up the boost a bit more, the turbo is nearing it's flow limits at this point (as evidenced by the tapering boost curve near redline).

Current specs:
93 octane pump gas
Stock intake manifold and throttle body
Greddy piggyback e-Manage Ultimate
PTUNING Turbo kit (Garrett GT30R turbo) minus TA specific intercooler set-up
PTUNING Spec A short block (currently available)
PTUNING 900cc High impedence injectors (currently available)
PTUNING Return style fuel system with swirl pot reservoir (TBA)
PTUNING spec cams (TBA)
PTUNING spec ported cylinder head (TBA)
PTUNING off-the-shelf 3" Turbo-Back exhaust system (currently available)
PTUNING/AEM WMI Kit with 50/50 mix (will be available very shortly)
Denso Iridium IK24 plugs

PTUNING Dyno Dynamics Dyno: 504.8WHP, 471.3TQ
Est. Dynojet WHP: 565WHP/528TQ
Est. Dynapak WHP: 580WHP/542TQ

imagine having that turbo kit on a sleeper tc and having a Si, Rsx,STI rev at you. And just blow them away.

We will be launching a new PTUNING website shortly with a new URL dedicated to just the Scion mark. Many of the TBA components we listed above will eventually be listed on the site. We will announce it once the site is ready for launching. You can follow our Time Attack racing efforts on the new site. For now many of the products are currently available at our main site www.ptuning.com. We will also eventually offer multiple maps for various boost levels with our turbo kit for owners of our turbo system.

This dyno was a preliminary test to show that the components we've developed and components under development are capable of working together to make BIG power. Our meth kit is designed to easily integrate with our turbo kit. Our fuel system is designed for forced induction with racing in mind. We can now say that our products are capable of producing more than 500whp(our dyno) and on pump gas at that.

Try making 500whp on our dyno with a 2.5" exhaust system, it's not going to happen. Try making 500whp on our dyno with a GT30R at 21psi at redline on 93 pump with an ebay turbo kit--good luck.

Yes, we're using high impedance injectors. It is not necessary to use a injector resistor pack or injector driver. The idle characteristics are excellent for such a large injector. A few years ago, I would have never believed it either. I guess you can say that fuel injector technology has come a long way.

Our datalogs show the injectors at about 90% duty cycle near redline (we're fueling pretty big HP numbers here). Keep in mind though that our base fuel pressure is only set at about 38 psi or so (just an arbitruary number we chose at the time). You will gain a little bit more flow with a higher base fuel pressure.

We are still working on the production fuel system at this time. We hope to be able to release the fuel kit in the near future. It will be all the fuel system that 99% of the turbo guys will ever need and it will also address the fuel starvation issues of the factory fuel tank design.

I will have MrC pm you with pricing and availability information on the injectors, since we have not yet released them for regular sale.

We are still testing our cams and cylinder heads, we will release it once we are happy with the result, probably in a few months. We have a lot of components still under development and testing--it takes time to do it right. We will announce it once it's ready for release.
