Default PTUNING: Testing our twin-wastegate RS VBand Manifold w/GT35R @ the dragstrip (VIDEO)

I know I haven't been as active on the forum lately, but we've been very busy with product development and daily operations in the last few months.

Although our TA tC is clearly a road race car and NOT a drag car, we decided to test our new set-up. At the same time, we wanted to make the "for-fun" exhibition pass that should have happened at the Scion Exposed event had it not been for a problematic MAP sensor.

Anyhow, as always our car was tuned on 93 pump gas with 50/50 WMI. Also, as usual, we always run and dyno our car with our full production Option-1 3" exhaust and air filter in place.

Now to answer the enevitable question from the get go..... yes, we can run A LOT faster with slicks, but they will not fit over 13" Stoptech brakes . More importantly though, this car is still set-up to run Time Attack events, not drag racing.

With our current trap speeds, we have no doubt that the car will run tens with slicks. This test and tune event was simply used to analyze the wastegating ability of our new twin-wastegate RS manifold. We set up the Haltech to control boost by gear. All the runs were done with a standard free-rev launch. We were planning on setting up the 2-step launch control for the last few runs, but the battery on my lap top died.

Wow thats really good guys. Im very happy to see that thing finally get a pass down the drag strip. Very consistent times and trap speeds as well for being on DRs with NO traction! With those trap speeds that car is fully capable of a mid 10 second pass on slicks. Just proves time and time again how reliable and capable yalls engine and turbo kit are. And to know that there is even more room left in it for more power is just amazing. Congrats to all of the guys at Ptuning! Also, Id just like to be the first one to point out how much the car was dancing down the track lol. You can see all the moves it was wanting to make towards the centerline and the wall even in 4th gear!!

The Bad Bish returns for redemption. 11.9 @ 134mph.... Been waiting to see the pass that should have happened at Exposed. I was standing in between the staging lanes on that day....Awesome to see the consistent passes. Dang that bad boy was spinning on up to 4th.

Alberto (other Ptuning tech) and myself had a blast driving the tC. 4th gear pulls so hard it caught me off-guard initially! It was a nice day at the track with a clould cover most of the day.

Nice, what kind of rims do you have on your ride?

Thanks,

We were limited to using a less than ideal 275/35r18 BFG DR. We needed a tire that would fit on our 18' diameter Advan wheels. Unfortunately, the short 35 series sidewall makes this DR only marginally better than our Toyo R-comps, but at least we looked good going down the track.

The car made 557whp on our DD dyno. However, we had problems with the compressor outlet coupler at the track, so our tC was a bit down on power.
We expected the car to trap at 138mph, but we'll take the 134.86mph for now.

Look for us to return to the track again one day as we shoot for a 140mph pass on 93 pump gas and WMI. We'll only need to make minor changes to our set-up to make this happen.

Thanks Travis,

Yep, the tC performed like we knew it could. It helps when you have a good MAP sensor.
