Default Question About Removing S/C

A buddy of mine is getting rid of his tc and he wants me to help uninstall the s/c. He has the stock parts but the ecu is flashed. Is there any way to unflash it and how? If we don't undo the flash, will it break? is it worse to run it na trd flashed with the stock injectors/spark plugs or leave the trd ones on?

Thanks.

you will need to to buy a new ecu . and put back the stock fuel injectors . I think its ok to run with the trd spark plugs but i mean if he is gonna take it off and sell it then he should take them off to sell it as a kit .

He can look for a stock ecu on ebay or at a local junk yard . i have seen several on ebay though . Besides that its pretty straight forward .

- remove s/c
- remove trd thermostat and radiotor hose
- remove oil pan
- put back stock intake -
- remove trd fuel injectors and trd fuel supply line
- and other little things
- and replace ecu with stock settings .

Do you know if he is parting it out ?? I would be interested in some parts.

oh and to answer your last questions if he leaves the TRD flashed ECU and TRD injectors in he will be dumping way to much fuel causing detonation .

But wouldn't leaving everything TRD minus the supercharger be the same as running the supercharger in vaccum (below 0 psi)? I don't know much mechanics but I'm just using logic.

the trd map consist of more fuel and more air hence the need for the stock ecu . The TRD flash will not detect the accurate fuel and air comming in because it will dump more fuel and try to bring in more air that is not their causing detonation .

Get the ecu from a junkyard from car-parts.com that's where I got my ecu when I switched from supercharged to turbo.

that makes sense, when the car is in boost. But when it's not, isn't it just like being na?

Thats not right, but anyway, the main reason you can't use the trd ecu with stock injectors is that the ecu things your using bigger injectors when your not and it will cause the stock injectors to put a butt load of fuel into the car, it will run like crap. What you can do temporarily though is run the TRD ecu and the TRD injectors, even when n/a that will run fine. Until he gets a stock ecu for those stock injectors.

gompka, thanks for chiming in. This is exactly what we plan on doing till he's able to get a stock ecu. TRD flash with TRD injectors.
