question about unichip
I bought an unichip off the classifides a wile back in plan to use it for my turbo setup. Never got around to using it so I sold the unit cheap. So the unichip I was told had a map for the trd sc kit. The gut bought it from me and installed it on his car. He said that as soon as he starts the car and it works for a little and shuts off. He seems to think that the maps not capable with his 05 scion. What do you guys think dont know much about the unichip?

Yup!!! LOL Thats it! I dont know what to tell him I told him to call unichip and see what they say herd someone say that they might have a base tune for the S/C. I hate to sell the guy this thing and for it not to work. He said that he was going to return it to me if it didnt work. But the guy got the thing for $240 which is a freaken steal and im not taking it back! So ya I dont know what else to tell the guy or unless you have an idea. I think he might have to take it to a tuner if unichip wont give him a base map. I mean sure its the same year car and stuff but every car is different. It might not even need that much tweeking on the map but wont know untill he takes it to a unichip tuner

[quote="tcengel"]Tell him to call Unichip and ask for a Supercharger map. They have several maps they can reflash for him. They only charge ~ $25 plus shipping.[/quote
Unichip doesnt have a map for the s/c You would have to go to a certified unichip tuner to get it tuned.

Have you called them and asked? They work with several of their tuners and may be able to get you a map from them. I think it was Titan Motorsports that did theirs.

im pretty sure he cant jus plug and go since the unichip usually comes for the turbonetics kit (correct me if im wrong) so im pretty sure he HAS to get it tuned anyway so its not really urs or his fault he jus needs to get it tuned thats all

Trust me i just went through this.. fyi, their customer service sucks. They loased a map on mine. I overnighted it to them and they told me they would do it that day and 2-day it back to me. Well, three weeks later i got it back.. after i already bought a greddy ems. They have pre set maps, only for bolt-ons though. I did that just to have a base map.

i know this has been said already but i would just have him go to a unichip tuner because if he modded his charger then a base (even s/c) map wont cut it. im saving up for mine to get tuned by the end of this month. going cheap will get him no where lol.

Regardless if the Unichip had a tuned map it should still be retuned since no two cars run identical. If I bought a ECU from someone that says they have the same mods I do, I would still have it retuned beacause no two sensors react perfectly like one another.
