Don't you have a manual you can read? j/k Everybody changes their oil at different intervals. I would say a change between every 35oo-5K should be ok. I change mine at 4K.

If you look in your glove compartment in the little pouch thing where the owners manual is theres another book thats for maintance intervals and what needs to be covered when. Look in there. It says you need an oil change every 5,000 miles or 6 months. From what ive learned from my auto class is that if you get the oil heated up long enough to get any water condensation out of it which takes about 10 miles to do they do it at 5,000 miles if your often not driving atleast 10 miles go in every 6 months. Now every once and while you can go less then 10 miles but on average like if you daily drive to school or work during the week is 10 miles go in at 5,000 if not go 6 months. Some people like to go in alittle early for the first oil change to get any scrapes of metal or anything used to manufacture it out of the engine. i went in at 4,300 miles. Some change there oil at 1500 miles some sooner then that. it all depends on your personal preference. You get the first 3 oil changes free so you dont have to worry about paying for oil changes in the beginnning.

Hope this helps im sure other people will chime in on this and help you out some more.

like gothemi8 said. it depends on your driving. short drives, lots of dirt roads, extreme temps and stuff change it more. i did my 1st change around 4500 and i get it changed around every 5k now. if thats what toyota felt was good im sure they have their reasons so who am i to argue.
