Default reflash after s/c installation???

Does anyone know if you don't reflash the ecu if it will cause any problems or what? Do you have to reflash it? Cuz reflashing takes like 30 lbs tq away and i dont want to lose that. Any info would be helpful, thanks.

The car will run without the reflash. You lose torque because the cars run less timing with the flash. There is a reason for this and I would personally reccomend doing it. With the ringlands being weak and the cars runing typical NA timing from the factory, its a good idea. Will the car just blow up if you dont? No. It will however run extremely rich with the new injectors and you run the risk of dramatically reducing the life of you engine. Only time will truely tell, but from my experience its much safer to run with it, or some sort of fuel/timing control.

<< so far the car is not running rich compare to stock qith the 410's and still nailed 26.8 somthing mpg on the last tank. I am not running the flash as of now for the timing pull on the flash to me is a 100% failsafe in case you get some crappy gas. I am concerned however about next summer when temps get to the 115 range. Going to have to stay on top of it like no tommorow. As of right now I show 0 signs of detonation running only shell 91 octain "knock on wood"

Bottom line, if you want your sc engine to last a really really long time, the flash is definitly reccomended. I will know more on the flash details as it turns out my dyno shops owner knows personally the guy that was the lead designer for trd on the tc project.

I hod no signs of detonation either. You dont have to detonate to destroy an engine.

10 because of a stock clutch. It had seen 14 for about two weeks, but it hadn't seen it in over a month. Those pistons have less than 6K miles on the btw. I've seen this exact same problem on a car that never saw over 10 psi but had run stock timing.
