I think there are some dealers that don't want to deal with anything they didn't install. Which if it's a factory backed part they can't do. No part of your warranty is voided just becasue you added the S/C. The powertrain warranty is still good if you get it reflashed. The flash is part of the "proper" install and if it isn't done then you're going to have issues with warranty. Meaning if something does go wrong in the engine or tranny it's not going to be covered.

No they are not making me pay for the tool. They told me 97 dollars no matter how long it took. They havent done anything like this, so mine will be the first. I get a exact quote for future self installers.

I don't see them having a problem with it. I mean all you really have to do is take out the ECU and flash it. It's all don a bench.

Yeah i agree. So when they finally get it out and reflashed and back in, should be about a hour or so. I think i remember reading someone who had theres reflashed 3 times due to it not working properly. How would i know if the reflash actually worked???

From what TRD has told us you can only flash the ECU once. If it doesn't work then you're going to have a real problem. The flach tool will tell you when it is done and its will say complete. Thats all i know for sure.
