Default S/C cold air intake and remapping

I have an HPS cold air intake and I just bought a supercharger for my Tc today. Someone told me there is no way this part will fit with my supercharger. Is this true? I will have to drive to get my ECU remapped. Is it ok to drive to to where I need to go? It might be a couple hour drive.

there is a way to get cold air intakes to work with the s/c but since the s/c is going to heat the air up as its compressed, its not worth it IMO.

the reason why everyone says that it won't work is because the s/c uses the factory airbox lid which has the maf flange. most, if not all, cold air intakes do not have the maf flange on the pipe that goes into the fender/wheel well area

you can run without the reflash, but stay out of boost and get it done by the dealer or get some type of fuel management (emanage, f/ic, etc.) if you dont want the reflash...

any toyota dealer should be able to do it or order the reflash kit if they do not already have it.

Do you know how hard it is to install the supercharger with a few friends and I. We are all very handy around cars. Also when I drive it to the dealer how hard is it not to make boost

my s/c 07 gets around 24.5mpg dropped from 27mpg. I got the reflash in the morning then installed the s/c after that. I installed the s/c myself. Easy to do but did take two whole days. You do need some special tools and at least two torque wrenches. Be prepared to make a few trips to sears for some tools. The most time consuming part is the oil pan.

Thanks for the good idea of getting it remapped before I install it. We got a few torque wrenches around. What special tools are you talking about?

Running with a CAI, will make you run lean, a friend did it and had to get an AEM FIC to tune b/c he was running lean with the reflash and CAI on the S/C.

I thought the reflash would be good enough for the tune.[/quote]

The dealer tune is only good for the stock s/c setup, not one with a aftermarket intake on it. Probably will run lean and may throw a cel.
