s/c ques. about racing
#21
but hey 184whp aint bad for a civic. But it would be close with a s/c on the tc just because they got lsd and they are lighter. I know they aint got torque but that six speed helps too. But i could be wrong.

TRD S/C'er and Racing....should not be in the same sentence.
Well...maybe that was a little harsh...ok, ok, TRD S/Cer, Racing and FAST should not be in the same sentence...LOL.

With the proper tune, and the right supporting mods, the trd s/c can get down to low 14's.
I've beaten supercharged cobalts with my set up and I am still on the TRD reflash.

Do you have links to ANY low 14sec TRD s/c'ed tC's? That is unheard of unless it's running spray too.

The new SI weighs basically the same as a tC.
SI = 2,877
tC = 2,970
Basically 100lbs lighter. For every 100lbs you shed off of a car, you only gain 1/10th of a second in the 1/4 mile. What this equates to is that IF the tC had the same stock HP as the new Civic Si, it would be only .1 second slower because it weighs 100lbs heavier.
This question has already been answered by me a long time ago though.
A new Civic SI with I/H/E is (about) Equal to a S/C'ed tC with I/H/E + 9 PSI s/c'er pulley+crank pulley. I say (about) Equal because my boy in the S/C'ed tC wasn't that experienced at racing it yet, so he lacked a little driving technique. I think a tC with his mods would win against an SI with I/H/E with a good driver driving it. An Automagic tC with a S/Cer and I/H/E + pulley, is probably equal to a stock 06 Civic SI, if not, the tC will be a little bit faster. From a Dig will be the greatest advantage for the Auto tC S/C'er. I can't see loosing to a stock Civic Si with a S/C'ed tC even if it's auto.

i think from a dig, the race wouldnt have been as close. starting from a roll somewhat evens out the playing field for the Si since it is a 6spd with an 8k redline. but your right, more vids are needed.

I have beaten rsx type-s with i/h/e, evo from a roll, bmw 335 turbo on the freeway, wrxs and k20 ek hatch. Most from a roll of course.. I don't have LSD so I don't get traction for crap. I haven't timed or dynoed my car yet so I cant tell u the numbers.

There are no S/C tcs running low 14s with proof of it. I had mine fairly highly modded and still was only running a 14.7
The problem with the supercharger is where it is making its power. It isnt making enough power off of the line. It is only making power right at redline. Its decent for flooring it on a roll at high rpms. But anything that involves low RPMS, its done. Low in the RPMS a supercharged tC is making no more power than a stock tC. You are only boosting at higher rpms.
Oh and if you are auto, you will never be beating Cobalt SS's. Unless you find away to get down to the low 14s. not saying its impossible, but there are hundreds on here with S/C tCs yet no one has EVER posted going that fast on a 1/4 track.

Even with modifications like a 9.5lb or 12lb pulley, header, header back ... your biggest issue is going to be your Automatic tranny.

if you have an auto tranny i think u need my mods to hit 250whp or u can go with 9.5psi all nst pulley and also full exhaust with intake and 50shot of nos then u would hit dat mark.....o yea.. i still have not run the track yet.. but im sure i could hit 13s with my sc.. tc.. but at the moment my clutch is starting to slip a lil... never know

Im doubting the 13s in an auto s/c tc. Not saying it isnt possible, but if it was, someone would have done it by now. Maybe with race slicks on, then I can MAYBE see it happen.

a while back there was a thread to post 1/4 times for s/c'd tc's. rhythmnsmoke posted a 13.9 second auto tc running a 75 wet. it wasnt a pic of the time slip or vid though, but that's the fastest s/c'd time i've read about on this board.

some people dont have a choice with the tranny and would like to add some more go power to their ride. it's called making the best with what you have. yes the autos are slower. yes they are more expensive to safely make power with. the whole "it's stupid to mod an auto" mentality really gets old and is useless for these types of threads

just want to let every1 knows not every1 one will show post of even tell what ppl have under the hood like me i perfer myself just keep it low and they dont know wat hit them.. that is the style i fall into... the mount of power i make im sure i could hit 13s on an man.. and as for an auto its done check out the website dragtimes.com i think dat was the website name... sc tc made into the 13s in auto.
