Unhappy s/c & shredded belt

my belt got shredded today its brand new too i got it from nst with the 9.5lbs like jan 30. it was an install problem cuz the belt never quite sat on the other pullys.the pully wwould never get aligned with the other pullys.idk but anyways yea just wanted to vent it just happen right now and Midas wont touch my car cuz the s/c// i drove it there cuz its the closest auto repair place around where i was. so im just gonna have to put my stock belt and pully on till i order another gates belt from NST

you can solve that problem by taking off ur pulley and putting a washer there to stick it out more, i dont remember the real name for the washer, its like shimy, shammy, something like that.

yeah midas is a joke in whatever city its in i run a shop and i do alot of repairs that midas just fixed and sure enough still broke. shim is what ur thinkin of

any shim thing or washer?

where can i buy it from and i put it on the inside then tighten the outside bolt for the pully?

i had to remove the 2 shimms when i went to the 9.5 pulley my belt was hanging off the front of the idler pulleys about 2mm. so i removed the shimms and the belt runns center. shredded belts are verry common on all superchargers if the belt is not runnig centered

hahaha.... yeah its a shim :D

to the OP, i have some i can mail you if you want. i used to have an s/c kit. PM me if you want!

damn shims are really important it seems hmm......

-how long do you think your belt lasted since it wasn't properly shimmed?

I shredded a belt with the oem pulley. All of the pulleys including the idler(s) need to be properly aligned.

so it turns out my idler pully closer to my firewall is busted..

i dont even know where to look to buy a new one. do i buy it from toyota or does any auto store sell them?

Whats busted about it? Are the bearings just shot in it? I believe Gompka can point you in the proper direction for those bearings. I honestly forget off the top of my head what size they are.

well it actually seems that the pulley itself wobbles on the bearing pretty bad actually. i saw it today
