what i would do is build out the rest of the car to make it stronger for when u have that turbo on there. boost wont do u no good if u dont have the traction u need. upgrade ur suspension, exhaust and tires first. research what ur buying also. u have to know about them to be able to maintain them.

suspension, brakes, clutch, lsd if you can afford it, lightweight rims and sticky tires.

around 220 to 250 whp on a good conservative tune. U can do tranny mods to your auto and do a valve job on it to help it stick up to the power you will be producing.

anything u can do to the tc with a supercharger u can do with the turbo. the tranny has nothing to do with it.

i had Web Cams make me some custom cams for my turbo set up. they made them for my particular car, and took all of my mods, and future upgrades into consideration! they ended up being 284's... which is gonna sound effin sick! i had hsk 272's in my DSM, and that thing sounded freakin mean... i can't wait to hear my tc after the build

if your interested, call web cams, and ask for Melissa, and tell her I sent you for the Scion hook up ;)

im not trying to thread jack.. I just chimed in to give my input on the cams. but as far as boost.. I won't be scared to peak my boost gauge out at 30psi! I don't have a thread going for the process bc its a slow process for me. its not a main priority of mine right now so I pretty much just tinker with it every now and then. this spring I'll have it all together tho, and we'll also be adding a few goodies to my wives boosted tc.. were shooting for 330ish in her car with factory motor.

Ripps s/c cams give you about 18-23whp - which is about 21-27hp - a guy gary (garyc_01) has them so maybe you should direct your questions to him

i personally wouldn't go past around 330whp on factory internals. there are people putting down 340's, and 350's, but thats just to risy for my taste.

^ i am 100% with you - 330whp is the max mark i tell anybody they should stick around. Honestly I would stick around 300whp because to get over that mark you need to boost 10psi+ nomatter how you look at it .....and I would be scared of blowing my head gasket and/or something internal. I think different then a lot of normal car people because keeping the car very safe is a main concern for me.
