Would it be safe to say that using something like lock tight would be good for that? Just asking so I know when we get mine back together if I should use it.

was the nut torqued to factory spec??? sorry to see your misfortune..

i had a simliar problem on one of my builds. the piston ring came out of the piston and locked up the cyinder causing the rod to see daylight

i told you guys not to break anything. on the bright side... it looks like the intake manifold held up at 21psi..lmao.

also.. i know your using an emanage ultimate and pushing it to the limits, but dont you guys think that the factory throttle body would be a huge restriction too?

This confirms what I said before opening the engine. The problem was caused by lubrication failure but not because of the higher rev limit as it was caused by the oil pump failing to work because of the nut that is supposed to hold it.

The sad part is the crankshaft is damaged but salvageable and the K1 connecting rods are OK. We will keep you guys informed of the next step as sonn as we decide what to do. We might resize the cranksahft or install a new one. We will see....

that is very sad to hear of the oil pump failure.
did you shim the Oil Pump ?
or just left it stock ?

i have damaged crankshafts in the past.
i would suggest you to just change the shaft.
but too bad to hear of the engine damage.
hope you assemble fast and rach your goal.

Let's just say that I will definitely use Loctite when installing the sprocket to the oil pump the next time..... What the hell ..... I might put another locking nut in there to be safe.

Yes it did. The incident with the manifold was the fault of the polisher as the fabricator is used to making manifolds that hold a lot of boost, NOS and even backfires .....

Yes the throttle is now a priority but we are looking outside the box for a solution . Also dont remember that the e-Manage will be replaced next year..

Yes it was torqued to spec but no threadlocker was used. Maybe we just had bad luck!!!!

Sometimes **** happens and although it is bad we have to think that we are walking on new grounds and things will always happen: some very bad and some not that bad !!

Yes the pump was shimed with a 3mm spacer inside the bolt!!

I have too ... Some people have bad experiences with reworked crankshafts and not to lie to you I considered changing it but this crankshaft is knife-edged and that is some money that will be lost if we change the crankshaft that could be saved by resizing the same crank!!!

Here is the Dyno graph ploting the graph from the old engine and the new one!!! Remember I didn't had the time to finish the tune. I was working with the fuel map modifications needed to raise the rev limit in a safe way then tune for RAW POWER


And this is the car after a little face lift it received before going to the dyno!!!!

I hear you on the crank!! We are going to remove the crank and have a serious conversation with the owner of the machine shop and then make the decision taking in consideration all the facts.

sorry to ask again but what was the AFR under fullboost, what was the injector duty cycle at under full boost and FP at idle if you don't mind me asking. sorry to be a pain with the questions....

sorry to kinda bust on u but thats all u ran at the track a 14.9..

i ran a 15.2 at 91 MPH on a stock motor.. just intake, cat back exhaust, and a lightened crank pulley.. and i know i can do better times..that was my first time ever running at a track..on stock wheels and tires

AFR' was 11.6 on low boost and a bit richer at about 11.3 at 19 psi. At 19psi the duty cycle was 79% at 19 psi of boost and 7,400 rpm's if I remember correctly (I will check on the laptop logs tomorrow)...
Fuel Pressure at idle is 42 psi...
