Default Shimming the S/C Pulley

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of squealing from my new SC 9.5 pulley and gates belt. I checked the alignment of the belt while its running and the belt is right on the outside edge of the front idler pulley and actually off the inside edge of the rear idler pulley. If I shim the pulley out more I'm afraid It will be off the outside edge of the front pulley. Not sure what to do, but I ordered the Shim kit from TRD just in case.

If I spin the engine backwards using a wrench the belt stays in perfect alignment. But when it spins forward the belt coming from the power stearing pulley in the rear wants to pull itself off of the inside edge of the rear idler pulley.

Does this sound typical or is somthing screwy with that power stearing pulley?

BTW the belt is properly seated on all ribbed pulleys.

Hmm, that looks just like mine only, the exact opposite. What was wrong with your pulley and how much was the replacement part? Thanks for your help and the picture!

My belt was shredded, and the replacement belt won't stay on after i start up the car.
i think the the pulley cost $160. labor was $60 at a performance shop. They are knowledgeable in turbo area but have no experience in superchargers. They are nice enough to call up TRD, and found out it is a common problem in tc's supercharger.

I am not really sure what is wrong with the pulley, but my guess would be bad bearing inside.

Thats exactly what I'm going to do. Hopefully the front one is still fine, and if the back one is going bad at least it can't cause a huge problem up front because of the tight space between it and the alternator.

Great Idea Thanks!

BTW will I be able to tell if the bearing is going bad by hand turning it without the belt on? Will it wobble more etc?
Should I even waist my time with the shims if I'm allready on the outside of the front pulley?
Now if only it wasn't -5 degrees out...

Maybe, if the pulley moves up and down or in and out your bearings and/or shaft is dead.
