s/c is 2000 for my car, a turbo is 4000 for my car

both system puts down bigger numbers with a nice exhaust

u can get bigger injectors for both system u can get emanage for both system

only difference what u can get is u need header and s pipe plus 9 psi pulley for the s/c

this is like 500 dollars....

u can get 230hp untuned(!!!) with these.. and it would cost 3500 INSTALLED!!!!!!!

turbo? 4 k .. not even installed yet but cost more than the s/c istalled, modded...

plus exhaust.. plus install and tune.. yeah.. another 2 grand. yeah but now now your car putting down 300....

He has a 2008, meaning he can't get the $2000 S/C. A simple kit with fuel management is 3200.

Also, I like how the exhaust for the S/C plus pulley was $500, yet the exhaust and tune for the turbo is $2000. Tune is about $400 at a reputable place, full turbo back (don't need since the simple kit comes with the s-pipe) is $900. A simple kit on 8-9 psi with a full 3" turbo-back will put 280-300 to the wheels. So for $4500, you're getting 280whp.

The supercharger is about $4500-5000 if installed at a dealer (needed for warranty). Add on headers, s-pipe, and catback and you're up to about $5300. Add on the pulley and you're up to $5400. Add on fuel management (trd reflash isn't exactly safe for 9 or 12lb pulley) and you're up to $6500. And with all this, you're at about 240-260whp.

I agree the supercharger is easier to work with, you keep your warranty, you don't have to worry about tuning, but if you do tune you can get pretty big numbers.

My cost was $1900 shipped for the sc and i installed myself.

3inch spipe back exhaust would be a waste on a simple kit honestly.

Correct, the flow does not call for anything more than a 2.5".

I was just trying to jack up the price of the simple kit as much as possible to show it's still cheaper than a S/C with matched power. The simple kit really needs like a 2.75", which doesn't exactly exist.

Ok CSOCSO the Install at a dealer unless you know somebody at the dealer and being as you want not just any dealer to install it will run you upwards of $500 more than likely. But what Carbon is saying is to get the S/C to 240-260 whp it will cost you around 6-7k for header, pully, spipe, exhuast and management. Id go with a water/met kit as well trying to run that much whp on the supercharger and i would want kik's rebuild kit so Im gonna agree with Carbon on the pricing mayeb not so much 4500-5k for the S/C and install but I wouldnt doubt a dealer trying to get it out of you. Just go Simple with management for anything 07up. 3200 aint bad for a full kit witrh management that can make 280up whp easy. With gauges which you can look on the classifieds and get some deals and a tune you shouldnt be spending over 5k total on the turbo kit. Once i get some more debt paid off im buy the simple kit for sure. I just need some real power and not at redline.

^^^

Might make you smarter Jay.

Anyway, turbo is way more fun. Supercharger maxes the boost at redline, while a turbo maxes the boost 3K to 4.5K depending on the turbo and manifold. I am glad I didn't go with S/C. But, each to their own I suppose.

I would love to go turbo, I would pay more to go turbo. I know way more about turbo applications, tuning etc. But no can do in NY ... not without knowing someone. Currently my car is also a DD, so as far as reliability goes ... S/C wins there.
